GoMachV's RC24e project

Post by GoMachV »

Been at this one for a while now and finally about to wrap it up. All parts are scaled 1/2 from the 12e making it a 1/24 car. Fits slot bodies but I'm struggling to find a nice early 80s stock car for it. I made a few concessions along the way but very minimal. For example the kingpins are press fit, no eclips that small haha. Front axles also. That one bugs me. I have some ideas though.

Anyway here are some pics

And here is the tire truer I had to make to create the donuts. It creates a nice 1/2 scale mess real quick.

For scale, this is a 1/12 T160 body

And here is the resistor next to a stealth trans case

Are 1/24 scale models accurate to size with your car? Maybe you can test your hand at vacuum molding on a kit body prepped out to be a vacuum mold.

The tire truing was enough for me haha. I think I'll just stick with watching for a proper body

The problem with slot bodies is the front is usually too dumped to clear. That's why I was thinking stock car. I'd love a proper can am or similar but I'm sure it wouldn't look right

If you were going to have a custom 1/24 scale body made, it's clear what body it should be:

I have had thoughts of making a few, but haven't had time to pencil out what it would take to do it

That's looking awesome :D , is the resistor real ?
Not wanting to make it complicated but it's possible to resin print short run injection moulds , could be a possibility for the plastic parts .
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.
