Original Midnight Pumpkin replica

Built a replica with the re-re Black Edition. My first Tamiya RC truck was a Quick Drive Midnight Pumpkin in the 90s, so wanted to finally build a real one. Sourced original tie rods/white ends, era correct electronics, hardly anything else is different chassis-wise. In the middle of body work, but that's not going super well (pics once it's done).

Couldn't find original body mounts (with the holes facing in), or the mechanical speed control linkage (although may have sourced one).

Very nice MP, looking forward to seeing the body when it’s completed. No one ever brings up the QD Tamiya trucks….

The coolest ever use of the QD Midnight Pumpkin is when they drove them on the beach over a minefield for the Nickelodeon game show Wild & Crazy Kids.
