Hi Lavigna

I am trying to track down a Turbo Burns as well and really appreciated and liked following your journey in the rebuild.

How did you track one of these models, what sites did you use if you don’t mind me asking.

Also I noticed you said you had another Turbo Burns NIB and wanted to know if you would consider selling it, at a name your price level. My intentions would be to build it and display it.

Thanks a lot for any info you can provide and hopefully I can get on the turbo burns bandwagon

Hey. I'm very glad you enjoyed the build thread. A lot of work and time can go into them, but they are a great source if information and often I find myself referring back to them.

There are a good amount of Turbo Burns cars and parts on ebay these days. A lot more now than a few years ago when I was actively building this TB. Facebook groups specific to the Burns and Inferno series are great sources for parts as well. Just plan to be patient. It's not like building up a current vehicle, where you can buy any part you want at any time. It can sometimes take a long time to find what you want. I've had parts that took years to find. I actually just yesterday came across a Paranoia aluminum center diff mount for the Turbo Burns. I have never seen one for sale before. Just keep looking and you will eventually get lucky.

Yes, I am the proud owner of a NIB Turbo Burns. I wasn't planning on selling it, however you are welcome to PM me with a crazy offer. 😁

I look forward to seeing pictures of your upcoming TB! They are classic cars.

I recently found this very rare Paranoia aluminum center diff mount for the Turbo Burns. I didn't even know these existed before I lucked upon them.

I already have the Chrono Racing center mounts installed, but these are so cool I'm tempted to build another car just for them.

Kyosho Turbo Burns - New Rebuild

Post by deekock129 »

For me, this is uncharted territory. This is the very first Kyosho I've ever had. It is, nevertheless, my ultimate RC dream build. I used to obsess over the Turbo Burns in the 1991/1992 Tower Hobbies Catalog when I was about 12 years old. I used to fantasize about driving and owning one. I'd never seen a nitro RC before. when i was driving my jeep with offroad rims , I imagined they were the coolest thing around at the time. Of course, in many ways, this vehicle was completely out of my league, but I always promised myself that one day I would acquire one.

Well, I finally painted the body. I FUCKING HATE PAINTING. I spent a lot of time on it. I did a somewhat box art design, and incorporated a bunch of chrome. However, the chrome isn't even visible next to the silver. It turned out ok, but I should have let a professional do it. My lightbox doesn't do it any justice.

I also swapped on the correct BSW 40 tires for the SCC.

I need to get some proper outdoor pictures now.

^ Thanks Dadio!

I tried taking some outdoor pictures, but still haven't managed to get the shot I want. I need to bust out the DSLR.

These should be the last pictures for this car. Other than painting a new wing (I messed up the paint on this wing) I can't think of anything else to do to it.

It's been a fun build, and I am very happy to own what was my ultimate dream RC car as a kid.

These old photos show the 3 mount setup. It looks like it could be front and rear brakes? If so, this is a much more robust solution than what Kyosho came up with (shown on my car). However it seems to require a complete change of the chassis layout.

I'm sure Emii knows, but there is a language barrier, so I haven't been able to ask.
Hello to all,

This T Burns with Chrono Racing double brake system is mine.
Do not hesitate to ask questions, on my side there is no language barrier 😉
