unknown chassis.7.JPG

I found an old thread (10 years old) on a car very much like one I recently got. https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=28626

Also found the same car on RCTECH, same person posting the same car.
There was really no consensus on the manufacturer.

Unknown chassis.6.JPG

From what I have gathered...

The motor pod is Parma.
The front suspension is similar to Delta.
The body posts are the same as my Delta Spyder. They are fairly common to many pan cars though.
The wheels are TRC BBS.
The 8/32 chassis screws and nuts are the same as early Associated RC10.
The T-plate on my car looks to be hand made, not original. Oddly though there are no marks from the 2 adjustment screws on my car, where the screws would contact the chassis.
My car had taken a bad hit on the front left which I repaired as best I could.

Thanks for any help
Chuck
It´s very nice to see your car.
Very rare find!

No, I never found the manufacturer of the car.
But seeing your car it´s a prove my car was not a homemade one-off.

Yes the pod is Parma.
Front end is similar to Delta yes, but actually it originates from the Vicfor car.
Yes wheels are TRC BBS. They were used also at the Delta Villain 1/10 and some other cars.
The 8-32 screws are nothing special, they were used at many 1/10 and 1/12 scale cars. Also at 1/8 nitro cars.

The fuel tube acts different to a spring. It works more like a softer spring but ads also damping, what a spring don´t do.
This setup was found also at the Vicfor cars and a few 1/12 cars. It is a lightweight and cheap option and I use that also at my current Delta Super-J 1/8 electric car.

If either of you need any of the Parma rear parts, they still show many of them being available.

I seen them a while back, while looking for a replacement body for my California Sport Truck.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

A friend of mine stumbled across these a couple days ago in a box. Shock bodies look hard anodized, and the caps are aluminum. The bottom of the shock body has a rubber boot on it, seen in black, presumably to keep dirt out. I've never seen these before, any idea?

Kyosho Equalizer? There was another put about the same time but I can’t recall the name. Ultimate maybe. I think those will get you a start to a proper search. Confidence level ~72%

Thanks Jeff, all the shocks I have found so far including the Equalizer shocks look similar but have threaded shock bodies. I agree with you that they are some kind of Kyosho shock, but I am still searching for a part number.

Looks like these might have been on a Kyosho Lazer ZX-RR:

The bad bit is that some of the threaded shocks and some of the smooth versions share the same part number. Kyosho did the same thing for some other parts.

While it’s bee 30 years ago and I suffer from CRS…I seem to recall that the bodies wasn’t threaded…they had a nylon collar that sat on top of the spring which had a screw that pinched it down on the body when tightened into the collar…you would set the tension you desired on the springs and then tightened the screw on the collar to hold it in place…granted I got out of the hobby in the early 90’s and don’t recall threaded bodies up till that point anyhow…
