Title says it.
I have a new in the box RC10T4 Factory Team kit I just started building and I am on a quest to update to to a 4.2. Thanks to a few here is was able to work out the front 12mm axle problem and now I am moving onto the shocks. The shocks the came in the kit are the FT standard shocks using the old style springs. I have a large amount of 12mm springs I use on my newer RC10s and I remember there was a way to convert the old shocks to 12mm springs. Does anyone know of this and what I need? A long time ago someone had a step by step thread on it but for the life of me I can not find it.

Ghea made some adaptors that screw straight onto the old sized shock bodies.

Some of the other brands use a small set screw that locks an adaptor ring onto the factory AE adjusting collar

Failing those Niki sells a shapeways adaptor that just slips over the stock sdjusting collar.



Also don't forget you need a larger spring cup on the bottom

Already have spring cups, just need a collar adapter. I looked on Shapeways but couldn’t find it.

I tried some of those but didn't like the fit. I thought that they were too loose fitting.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

Received the Avid collars Saturday. Standard shipping and they still got here faster than a UPS 2nd day package from within my own state. They even included a decal sheet. Very classy.

I like Avid, they make lots of cool stuff.

I particularly like their Revolution bearings. The idea is simple but I'd never thought about mixing types of shields.

I almost always use their bearings and have used those collars in the past for the same reasons that you are.
Added benefit, springs don't tend to scrape the shock bodies raw.

And some of the little containers, flip top round and tubes, are great for all kinds of smalls.
Wish they sold them on their site.

They used to sell the small containers separately but I don't see them anymore.

It wouldn't surprise me if they are having supply issues.

Do the AVID shock collar adapters only work with using threaded shock bodies, and not the smooth shock bodies?
