RC10 T4 Front Wheel Nut Size?
I apologize for what seems like such a simple stupid question!
I picked up a T4FT earlier today and dug a bit into it. I found the front wheels were held on with plastic nuts. From my quick research, the front threads should have been 4-40 or 5-40, so I picked up some 4-40s at the HT while getting some new wheels and tires ..............but they don't fit at all. The outside of the axle threads mic out at 3.15mm, so what nuts am I looking for here?
I am printing out some Pro Line Raid to T4 wheel adapters now, and it is going to kill me if I can't mount these things up when done!
Thanks

I would think they would be 6-32 or 8-32. I think my T3 is 8-32 for front and rear, and GT has 6-32 front with 8-32 rear, if I'm remembering correctly.

I believe that they are 5-40. I use the RJ Speed 7207 on some of my cars.
Originally, they used the 6222 nylon nut. It would thread onto 4-40 and 5-40 threads.
I have also used the Jconcepts M3 nylon nuts. But be careful, they are easy to strip.

Thanks Guys! 5-40 it was. About the only size I don't have any of!

Be careful not to over-tighten the nut on aluminum axles. With a metal nut, it is easy to snap the threaded section off. Probably why they came with nylon nuts.

HaHa! Well, I used the nuts to do the final setting of the bearings as the printed hub diameter was too tight. Guess I got a little lucky!juicedcoupe wrote: ↑Thu Apr 01, 2021 1:14 pm Be careful not to over-tighten the nut on aluminum axles. With a metal nut, it is easy to snap the threaded section off. When I tighten the nuts on aluminum axles, I don't really even hold the nut driver tight. I just spin it with my finger tips. When it snugs up, I stop.
