Another delivery today, a counter-steer upgrade for a Tamiya TA05. Considering a) these were big 5 - 10 years ago, b) I don't drift, and c) all my TA05 cars are in pieces in a really big box, I'm guessing this will go into the box as well, and come out some time in the future.

For those that are unaware, CS simply provides different gearing, to enable a different ratio of drive front-to-rear - in most cases, overdriving the rear, to make it more like real RWD drift performance characteristics. Largely replaced by RWD drift chassis' these days.... but I'll eventually play with it.

It's Sunday for me but Tuesday I will be getting the new ESC/Motor, a charger and 2 lipo's. I'm super excited. I had to track down a few other parts to complete the project but they will be here tomorrow.

An unbuilt Trinity Evo 10 and an Andy painted body, that I won in a raffle over on Old School RC.
Now I have to decide if I'm going to build it, or leave it unmolested. If I do build it, I don't know if I can bring myself to poke holes in the body though...

Let's face it, even if you do build it, it's not likely that you're going to run it... or at least, run it HARD. As such, I'd go for a magnetic or velcro body mounting approach - all you need it to do is hold the body in place. Plus, being a pan car, it should be relatively easy to put together some hidden mounts.

This arrived today from eBay , listed as possibly Kyosho , very cheap indeed ! I'd have paid more for a pair of track rod ends ! :D

and after a little cleaning
Image
it must have been on some weird RWD conversion as it was fitted with 2WD axles for I don't know what , the spacing is wrong for a Yokomo ?
Image
Also saw something odd in the central spindle bearing housing that turned out to be the drive cup off the spindle .

Not "vintage" but it'll be fun I think. Has the bonus parts (esc and bearings), so that's cool.

EDIT: Ha ha! I opened this thing up and started scratching my head. Then it hit me. Golly gee, where is the tub? For Pete's sake, no chassis? I realize alot of turmoil has been wracking Hong Kong in recent times, but ding-dang it!!! I might drop a line to the seller but.......ok, I'll head over to the complaint department thread and seek consoling. Bummer. Or the BST for a DT-02 chassis inquiry. RATS! Or I could enter the BOTMC (Bummer of the month contest).

I don't know , it kind of has that restoration vibe now , hunting for that elusive part to complete it !

Super Rooster came in the post weeks ago, but a friend of mine who I was into RC with back in the '90s gave me the Rooster yesterday. Last time we checked, it worked flawlessly in his RC10T in 1995.
