Who needs a stupid speed control anyways..

Post by j-sou »

Just got this gem in the mail today. Popped off the wiring cover and discovered this:

And we've been wasting money on speed controls. You could have just hooked the motor straight to the receiver like this!
Can't imagine this worked too well...
Resistors in the tub indicate that at one point there was a proper msc in there. Now they are just for show I guess!

You can do that but if you put it under load I bet it will burn the traces out of the board. What some people will do to get out of spending money always amazes me.

Ummm.....no you can't do that! The white wire is a pulse. Black and red are power and ground. You don't have anything there to control power with. The esc is not just an amplifier, it processes the signal.

Wish I read this earlier. I spent hours last night taking the speed controls out of all my other cars and throwing them away. Dang it... :(

Lmao. You wouldn't believe how much stuff I've screwed up in my life. Google would have saved me lots of burned up servos and receivers.

This is the secret speed tip all the pros have hid from us for decades!
I miss brushed motors in that hazy, everything seemed better when I was a kid, kind of way.

Just WOW! Must say this is the first time I have seen that. I am curious if it would even make the wheels spin though.
