JK Racing wrote:what if you used a truck noseplate/bulkhead and attached the narrow front arms, would that suck the front tires under the body? then just realign the rear swing arms & figure out what dogbones to use for the "narrow" rear end.
was gonna try that but didn't want to wait for parts. Well no longer goldtub , i cut the front about an inch to suck in the front width and since the stock tower wasn't gonna work anymore i made one out off aluminum!! all thats left to do is shorten steering set-up ,trim body some more then paint hook up elec's(b/l when i go back to work fulltime) and off to the park she goes
LOL!!! back to the drawing board. i kind off realized that taking that much material from the front would weaken it , i was gonna get a buddy of mine to make an "I" piece of aluminum to tie the front nose piece to the rear tower , also Bob gave me some really good advise on other pieces to use to narrow the front, BUT i got bored took took it out on Monday ran fine in the park , did a couple of jumps off the side walk and then SMASHED head on to the curb and well everything(nose) bent back about an inch and made its self part of the steering!! luck nothing broke but my ego
if you plan on keeping the noseplate that narrow you might be able to use a kranzels terminator nose plate. they have the identical bolt pattern and are very strong.
So the rebuild begins! I have decided to keep as much as possible stock but build a true back yard basher. The tub is pretty scuffed up and a few extra holes added but I am happy just to have this piece of my childhood with me still. When I found...

Hi luckyracing, if you click here ( it will take you to a very informative page on the history of the rc10 buggy, you should/could be able to work out from there, the age of your car.

I had planned to buy a handful of these each year, if and when produced. Of course, I suppose I could just buy several handfuls at the beginning if that would benefit the project more. There are some pretty cheap 3D ones on eBay now, but my...
Just won this today:
I already have most of an Ultima rolling chassis, so it looks like I'll only need to either find an original wing or make one from scrap lexan.
Can anyone recommend contemporary wheels and tires for it? Bear in mind that front...

I remember that the Sideways was the perfect platform for those older hot rod bodies.
I guess the Sideways cool wheels and tires really matched the hot rod look...
I just restored an astute recently...so let me know if you need any information...
My other thread poofed, so I guess I'll start a new one to chronicle this build.
With the arrival of the chassis and a few other parts today, the build is underway. Gonna take some time and a lot of $$ to track down all the white parts, but it'll...

Was this your first restoration ?
Pretty much. I've brought many of them back from the brink and made nice drivers out of them, but never worried about correct original parts. Made no difference whether they had square or hex turnbuckles, original...
