you want to run a 10.5(4200kv) motor (i wouldn't use castle, but thats your call).
using novaks final drive chart http://v2.teamnovak.com/kb/knowledgebase.php?act=art&article_id=29
you want to be at a final drive of 8. using a 81 tooth spur you'll need a 22 tooth pinion.

keep in mind that this is a starting point, you can go up or down as needed just monitot temps.
you don't want a 540 sized bl motor to hit the 170 range.
Ok, thank you for the advice as I do appreciate the feedback. I am merely starting out with the 3800kv motor and I will go from there.

I too was thinking that I am shooting for an 8 FDR, but the 22 is not correct per the calculation. I think that it should be like a 27t pinion. 81/27 = 3. 3*2.65=7.95. Would you not agree??

I will definitely be monitoring performance, heat, etc when running the castle. I may switch to something later down the road, this is merely my starting point.

i find 10.5 the perfect mod motor for 2wd. i tried a novak 8.5 (5000kv) and it was crazy, but the 10.5 seems just right.
I just bought a Reedy Sonic 10.5t for my B4.1 and am anxious to give that a spin. Currently running a 13.5t in it right now. If I like the feel of the 10.5t, than I might make the switch in my Worlds if I don't like the feel of the Castle.
