YZ-834B Restoration
I've had this Yokomo YZ-834B three years and finally got around to completing its restoration. Even though there were some missing and broken parts (and quite a bit of dirt), the general condition was very good and the drive train looked like new. That's quite amazing, considering that this car was raced.
The missing/broken parts were sourced from an incomplete car that I bought on eBay.
Modifications and Upgrades:
-- Trinity carbon fiber chassis (thanks to 59burst for the brand)
-- Hot Trick gold roll bar
-- CRP lengthened mono shock mounting plates
-- Delta slipper
-- aluminum lower A-arms (brand unknown)
-- Associated gold shocks
-- full bearings
-- Mr. Lexan RPS Yokomo body and decals
-- You-G tires on original Yokomo rims OR Pro-line tires on 2.2" Yokomo rims (with 1/4" thick machined spacers)
The chassis has a bunch of extra holes from previous owners' various exercises in steering servo mounting; I went with RC10 servo blocks.
As with all my cars, this is a runner (occasionally...on grass...no big jumps ). The weight is low, so it really flies with the Yokomo stock motor and 2s lipo. Lots of fun.
Before shots are in the second post.

Love it! You have done a great job bringing this old dog back to life. Great vintage looking paint too!

Re: YZ-834B Restoration
Thanks!
Vintage paint: yeah, I was trying for that, but I'm a mediocre painter, so two or three colors and very simple masking makes every paint job I do look vintage .

Do you mean the chain guide? I have one in reasonable shape if you are interested. It has been modified a bit. Let me know and I'll send you a pic or two.59burst wrote:can you tell me where you got the topdeck from? I'm looking for one.

Thanks for the chassis info! I'll update my first post.59burst wrote:you chassis came from Trinity. and it's runs better on the track

As for the top deck, I got it from a donor parts car.
Re: YZ-834B Restoration
So the graphite chassis is Trinity? I have one on my car but it came with it so I guess I assumed it was original. I knew there were cars with stamped steel chassis as well, just never thought about it...59burst wrote:you chassis came from Trinity. and it's runs better on the track
