The 2011 Venom INTL Vintage Festival - Castle Hill Australia
Hi guys,
Thought I would start a thread up for this coming weekends Venom International Vinatge Buggy Festival being held here at the Castle Hill track here is Sydney Australia. For the past 5 or so years I have been helping clubs run vintage meetings - and this year is the second year that the Castle Hill club has allowed me to put on a large scale vintage meeting. This years festival is being held over two full days. Saturday is 2wd day, Sunday is 4wd day. There are several classes to cater for all skill levels and interests. So far we have over 50 entries for each day!! This is the first year I have run a two day event - and it looks like it is going to be better than ever.
Many of you comment on how we Aussies "do it large" at vintage meetings - so I will get as many pics and entrants to post up stories and pics for you all to enjoy. Several of us are runnig six classes or more!! There will be plenty of action shots for all to anjoy. I will hopefully get some good shots of my Legend 410 running around with James's Legend 410 (Yep - I have been joined by another crazy person willing to drive one of these awesome cars) - certainly dont see them on a track much - let alone two mixing it up in races!! Tonnes of rare and exotic cars came out for racing last year - and this year promises to be even better.
Stay tuned - pics to follow.
Cheers
Darryn

Sadly the rain effected us again - with only the 2wd day (Saturday) getting a run - even then the racing was cut short - didnt stop us having a brilliant time though.............
Rather than go through a blow by blow description - I will let the pics do the talking. (Sorry in advance for the abundance of Sand Rover pics - one of my most favourite cars - period!)

Cheers for now

this really was a top event!! guy's, darryn put his heart and soul into the organizing and it certainly showed, despite the rain (made for cool pics) all the lad's had an absolute ball. we gathered together speaking of the old day's and all that it entailed, the bbq was running hot for breakfast and for lunch with a master chef at the helm. jame's (vintage racer) and myself drove over 2500 k's to attend the event and we are still smiling
this is how we do it in good ol australia
more pic's??? yep check these out!!! enjoy
