Doug's 6 wheel RC10 Monster Truck

Post by DougH »

Just finished a restoration on my 25+ year old 6 wheel monster RC10. When I first saw this Parma truck puller body I knew I had to build something around it and this was the result. Over the years I also built several drag trucks with the same body style. From the colors you can tell it was built a while ago, I used the same paint design but painted up my last body from storage for the restoration

This was first built before the stealth trans was out and it used to tear up the trannys on a regular basis. Of course the fact I ran it with 2 6 or 7 cell pacls wired in series for 12-14 cells and twin motors in parallel each geting the full power output might have been a factor. All ball cups were changed to heqvy duty links with washers to prevent tehem pulling thru. When you pulled the throttle you sure better be pointed straight as this thing had massiive wheelspin even goiung down the straightaway.

It was pretty well known in the Northern CA area and it is sure a lot of fun to drive.

Beautiful! Is there any flex at all at the center diff/chassis joint?

No flex at all, that is why I added the two top chassis braces. The front one also provided a great place to mount the second battery, and the spreed control goes on the one between the two transmissions

Trick truck. It would be cool to come up with a belt drive to use one brushless motor.

The truck is not a puller, the body was just designed for one. I raced it both offroad and on a dirt oval. Didn't run much as sombody running a stock motor and 6 cell pack wasn't thrilled when he was blown by with a 14 cell twin mod motor monster :) Usually just did some exhibition runs between heat races.
