Being a big World War and tank fan this was an easy purchase. I don't do models but since this is a motorized model, I should be able to convert it to RC. It's only 1/35 scale so it's small, but perfect for the trenches in my garden.

To start. The tank comes with 1 motor/gearbox that drives both rear sprockets letting the tank run aimlessly at scale speed. The motor mounts on a perch but Tamiya has included a second perch for another motor/gearbox right next to it. (at right in pic) No doubt Tamiya has plans to release this in RC. So the search began for a second motor/gearbox.

Found 2 on the bay. For electronics, I'm going to steal the ESC/receiver from my 1/35 Panther RC tank which I recently retired.
This is a fun build and Tamiya really put together a nice kit. Some steps are tedious, like the road wheels where they were either 2 or 4 pieces each. And the tracks which come in individual pieces and need to be put together.

Tracks painted light gunmetal, waiting for weathering.
