"Don't ya just hate when...." Traxxas Eagle Edition

Don't ya just hate when you find a key part to a build that you hadn't planned?! I saw an auction with this beautiful (not) Eagle chassis and small lot of pieces. Couldn't pass it up. I had a few white parts, sourced more, and eyes out for the last bits. Shocks are the biggest challenge now, as the gold Bullet style rears are hard to find. I bought some hard anno shocks and will strip them, maybe my anodizer can get them close

I figure you guys will be able to appreciate a flawless Traxxas chassis! I have no idea why Traxxas would paint them metallic black but they did...and they are ugly!

Ah so you got that chassis......i have some hawk white parts transmissions etc if you are interested. Not new but mostly good shape.

I have a nip black case but the white one is on my want list. I think Don has a used one for me so unless I find a nip white one I think I'm ok for now. The parts that are really hard to locate are white front arms and white rear hubs, and of course the shocks (gold bodies, white clamps and cups). I'm going to put it together into a roller with what i have and just watch for the rest to pop up. I'm still in search for a manual or parts list. The one on the Traxxas website is updated (mixed with blue eagle and parts removed like trans)

I had a pretty hefty snipe in on that chassis. I didn't expect to get it that reasonably in nip condition. They are ugly but that's the beauty of it!

when i got that nip eagle kit a few years back, if it wouldn't have had the serial number sticker on the bottom, i would've had a hard time believing that they came from the factory like that. they are awful.

yeah, i got one that I thought was in rough shape, but it turned out that it was just the ugly paint that they applied, and it was so ugly, I though the previous owner did it. Let it sit in a bag of acetone overnight and cleaned what was left of that stuff off, and now it looks pretty decent.

I'll PM you some photos of what I have. I was trying to get rid of the whole box of parts(complete hawk) cheap a while back with no hits, heck, I'm trying to remember if I got it all from you....I know it was someone from the northern left coast.

I bet it was! I got rid of all my hawk bits when I got my new built. Sadly besides the case there wouldn't be much else to use

pretty sure there is quite a bit you can use. arms, spindles, spring collars, rear hubs, sliders, etc etc.

High gloss black lumpy sparkle coating. I love that chassis. Think it's rad. Not Radicator rad but rad rad. Anyhoo. Sweet build potential you got going there. Had one of these bitd. Think I still have those gold shocks layin' about somewhere. I can literally give them to you as I believe access to the "donate section" is not restricted. Let me know. It would be neat to get them lashed up to an Eagle again.

OMG, looking at those pictures I figured someone (maybe a 3 year old?) painted that chassis them self! Does Traxxas give paint guns to chimps and have them do their painting?

Lol! There was a "white" carbon chassis listed in the optional parts lists. Must have had some white house paint left over!

If you find those gold shocks let me know. That would be a huge help!

There's something about black chassis and white arms that keeps reminding me of some other RC Car but darn I can't recall now...

Got a few more parts today, getting closer!

The diff was a kit which is almost rare for Traxxas, the ones in the kits were presssembled
Although it says all you need is a different topshaft (48p), the diff gear is wrong also. Luckily I had one in my pile of parts
