why is when we get such good news, its always not in English ?
Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion
I'll buy one, because I'm a fan, but I am not loving re-releases because I love the hunt for cars and parts, almost as much as owning them.

Im in for just about anything they rerelease. I stayed away from Tamiya reres because of the plastic they are made from. Kyosho traditionally uses far superior materials, so a rere should be good for yeeaaars. AWSOME NEWS!!!

It remains to be seen how true they stay to the original.

Kyosho puts the legendary 2WD Buggy Scorpion 1982 on new! The buggy was in the 80s as fiercest competitor of the Tamiya Rough Rider and was with an aluminum ladder frame chassis, oil-filled shock absorbers to trailing arm axles, a wide rear-mounted electric motor and RS540S a multipart body equipped with driver figure. More information about the Scorpion re-release to follow shortly, according to Kyosho.

if they are doing then, then an optima and ultima would surely be on the cards as well (well, ultima maybe not so much)
what im quite suprised about however is just how quickly the fuss over the rc10 classic died down, I thought we were going to get flooded with new people and build threads etc....nope, a couple of months of excitement and now things are back to buisness as usual. (the worlds car oddly hasnt got anywhere near the attention the classic did, even here)

I'm curious to see if Kyosho will support the cars with spares or if it's just a limited run kit for collectors. I need a re-re white tub.
I suppose we'll also eventually see re-re's of the Tomahawk, Beetle, and Sidewinder too to get the most out of the remade molds.

Lets hope they do make spares. I could use a couple of new gear sets.
A ball diff would be a nice option too.

Re: Kyosho now on the re-re bandwagon - Scorpion
I've never owned a Scorpion so I don't know what the weaknesses of the car were, but hopefully they would be addressed. The shocks & shock collars, easily bendable front shock tower and gearbox would probably all be weak links. If I were to buy one, I'd hope it would survive a reasonable modern electronics system.
I also hope it won't be ridiculously expensive...which it might be, if Kyosho indeed had to re-make all the molds, as the rumor was that all the molds were destroyed for their classics.

I'd be all over an Optima re-release... any one of them. I always loved that when I was a kid, but it was way WAY out of my price range.
