Stealth Tans

Post by Brat »

I thought of building up a brand new sealth for my gold tub. Does any one of you have a instruction with pictures to share with me cos I've never build one before.
Also, is the trans for B4 the same as the older trans? I would prefer the B4's cos its easier to get the parts.
Is the drive axles and ball bearings from my old 6 gears usable?
Lastly, I've seen the link to Towers for all the parts necessary to build stealth but unable to find the thread. Can anyone helps?

I posted a scan of the entire stealth instruction manual...its in 2 parts since its got 20 pages or so and its in the scan section of the forum.

I think you will find the Tower Parts thread in General under the thread thats stickied called useful links i believe

DV8ion posted a week ago about trying to match parts from the new B4 tranny to the old one. Looks like some will fit. However i think if you want to use an entire B4 stealth on your gold car you will need to mod the chassis and/or make a mounting block for it. My cousin put a B2 stealth on a rc10Graphite and had to make a mount...

If you use an original stealth you can use your dogbones or U joints or CVDs but I'm not sure what from a 6gear tranny you could use. All of the bearings are flanged in the 6 gear except for two deep inside the outdrives...I dont think any will fit in the stealth

Yup I did make the switch over to the B4 spur/slipper combo and it works amazingly. All you need is a few parts and your good to go.
Heres a list of parts you will need to make the switch.
  • Spur gear 81T (9651)
    Slipper hub (9604) x2
    Slipper pads (9603) x2
    Top Shaft (9601)
    Slipper Spring (9605)
    Slipper locknut (6629) or a 5-40 locknut
As for using a complete B4 Stealth.....it won't work without alot of modding to both the tranny case and your chassis. You can still use your stock gear cover on this conversion......all you have to do is make sure you setup your slipper and then just mark and Dremel the excess off the top shaft end.

Heres a pic of what it ends up as.

Thanks Dave :D :D The T4 is all the same stuff so it makes life easy when at the track. 8) 8) This Monday I'm off work and I'll be on a mission to hit all the hobby shops I can and hopefully grab the rest of my needed parts. :D :D

If you need the maual for the 6 gear tranny you could probably find it on http://www.rc10.com and look in the support section under maunals: http://www.rc10.com/shusting/CatalogHub/cathub_offroad.htm
look down to the 84 or 89 or 90 rc10 graphite or the gold one and see the pfd maunal - thats got all you need inside to rebuild a 6gear. good luck

Sure here ya go, no thumbnails here LOL J/k I keep them under 700k. This is going to be my runner for this seasons vintage class at out track. I'm building it for something fun, I run my B4 in 2wd open and my Kyosho Lazer ZX-5 in 4wd open. I have not much more to do really on the car just some odds and ends.

I couldn't find any old nose or motor mount in the AE Red so I just polished up some old beat up black ones. Whatcha think??? Any suggestions?

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. :D I still have to finish the motor plate so I might as well do the tubes and wing mounts. :)
