I got these Duratrax long shocks in a parts lot a little while ago. They're in really good condition but as a lot of people here know, they have only one o-ring seal to stop the oil from leaking out. Hence the nickname Duraleaks . They're going to...

A while ago I bought a cut down and cracked graphite chassis off ebay.

If the stealth holes are drilled and countersunk properly, there's no way to know what it started as. Especially if they countersunk the motor guard holes too.
Thanks. So the chassis blanks are the same and only the pattern that changed.
I'm interested in seeing a picture of the RPM part. 8015
It was listed as a part in the RPM worlds 7077 team car 91 worlds team car front end kit. Was there anything special about them?

Didn't realize that was part of the sandkill post. The tubes look pretty standard. Thanks
The advertisement wasn’t from his post, I just meant if you’d like to see his post of the actual parts as well.
Oh also in the title (short and long...
Do you have any preferred or recommended places to shop for RC in Hong Kong?
Last post
Thanks for the advice all. As luck would have it, many folks in Hong Kong take the Christian holidays off! I found out the hard way lol, no rc buying, a nice walk around the city...maybe a good thing.
It appears Autographics is back. Someone has bought the name and materials. Ebay seller name is autographicsofcalifornia

Licensing was the first thought that came to mind when I read Jeff's initial post. Maybe Autographics will follow Tamiya and create faux company logos similar to what's found on this re-re Blackfoot decal sheet?
Hey all. I am looking for some black or white colored springs in 2 & 2.5 lengths that will fit Losi XX/XXX series shocks.
What other brands/models springs may be a good fit?
Thanks for your help!
Last post
They are a little bit larger than regular Associated springs, right?
If so, Traxxas Ultra shock (common plastic ones) springs should be close, maybe a touch larger. They are available in several colors as well as aftermarket options.
Everyone vote!...building an AGI Jammer...should I go simple Bolink front-end or more sophisticated RC10L4 front end...need reasons with replys...thanks!

I'm looking to get a couple of Protech I bodies and wings sets to paint.
I only know of Boki and Team Blue Groove for reproductions bodies. As it appears only Boki has a Protech I Is one better than the other in terms of faithfulness to the...

I don't see it anymore, but Boki used to have a note in the description of the Protech bodies. It stated that they had adjusted the mold to correct some of the fitment issues with the original.
Maybe they have corrected it. The one that I did was...
The bummer about building up from parts is that the little stuff holds up projects. Things like E-clip hinge pins. I can probably make some out of steel rod, but if there's a commercial source I'd rather buy them and they will probably be nicer than...

For the rear inner hinge pins, RPM is selling them (#70590). I actually need those, so that's a good thing. I'll have to watch for the JC Racing production.
Just note that those are the longer ones. Later models (Worlds, late CE and TC, and...
On one of my recent ebay buys was a t3 that I just started stripping down. For the most part everything looked good. When I got down to the diff I was happy the out drives looked to be in good shape. Then I realized that it wasn't grease leaking out...

Not to hijack, but were belt driven and direct driven TrackMaters strictly for drag racing? Or only super loose dirt? They seem like they were pretty common to be such niche devices.

Hello and hope everyone is doing good. I wanted a car stand that didn't have a large foot print and had to be easy to move. Bottom is a Bar Stool seat and the rest is 1x3's. I am not a carpenter or wood worker by any means and to be honest I am...

Oh wow, that looks great! :D
I made something very similar a few years ago -- made 4 of them actually. The small footprint makes it convenient to set them in a corner where nothing else will fit.
My google skills aren't turning up any picture results for the team associated painted bodies

Very interesting is the one that Jeff posted pics of nib is a departure from the design. Wonder which one came first ?
I am trying to work with a few chassis plates that I have, and get them to the point where I can send good files to a fabricator for cutting. This seems so simple in theory to me; place the flat plate in the hi def scanner, hit the button, and Wala...

I will scan the item as a pdf which retains the scale. Then I import it into cad as an overlay. Then I start by picking a hole to base everything off from. I measure the actual part hole to hole, triangulating it as much as possible. Then in cad you...

Building transmissions, specifically ball diffs. They are like the heart of an RC car and I love the attention involved in assembling them correctly.

I agree Jeff, it has come to the point where I will set something up inside to paint.
The fumes and such are not great indoors but I really don't care anymore.
I have 20-30 year old tires, which have not been cleaned in as much time. The rubber is relatively stiff (maybe dry) but in great visual condition with all of the spikes and no cracking of the rubber. These tires will be mostly for display. I want...

Hello all,
Has there been a thread on the best upgrades?
I'm curious as to what upgrades people put on their cars/trucks that they felt were just awesome for racing, bashing or both.
What wasn't worth it? What upgrades just didn't work like you'd...

For the pretty much non racer I can't add to the list but to emphasize R/C tools. I upgraded as I could. AE tools pretty much fill my order but have been told that I'd never turn back away from an MIP once I used it.
I really enjoyed the Masami re-re video series. Masaki saving the bags from each kit

Just a heads up, I'm sure we all have older RPM and Lunsford ball cups rattling around somewhere. For 4.3mm ball studs there are the 3racing brand ones, some HPI ones, but with Lunsford shuttering ops....anyway I stumbled across some 4.3mm with M3...

I have bought Schumacher ball studs from different series, all fit my Associated, RPM, and Custom Works cups fine.

The ones on my Losi Mini JRX2 measured 3.9mm. The thread looked like M2.5 (maybe 2.6). If used with a helicoil, they'd probably work.
I wonder if you find it as annoying as I do that many products and spares don't give a good description of measurements.
Especially with vintage models for which spares are difficult to come by.

Yes, very annoying! ..especially when trying figure something out online from pics. Every piece of hardware needs the size and length shown, bearing sizes..wheels and tire sizes too.

Have any of you tried to create rear toe-in for your old-school RC buggies? This might be apply to old-school Tamiya 4wd buggies or other makes.

I was thinking that too. Keeping the original plastic, fixed trailing arm arrangement of the Egress would just require additional holes drilled to add some rear toe.
It would great to see some 3D printed (metal preferably) Booth-style front arm...
I do. It's probably not professional. I have another wall with academic books of course. Perhaps one or two RC would be tasteful, but the shelf space screams RC display.

Here are the rules for what makes a shelf queen to me:
