Re: The Official "What is it?" Thread

I believe it was anodizng inc, and I'm pretty sure they are still the largest one around that area. If they aren't willing, there is a place in wood village called Advanced Precision Anodizing and their purple is amazing. They are also quite affordable.

Re: How bad/not bad is my nitro engine?

The cylinder head combustion chamber should be nice and smooth, if it's pitted or grainy then it's no good. Bearings and rod should be easy to find and replace. To remove the liner stick a zip tie in the exhaust port and turn the crank to push the liner up. If it's really stuck you may have to heat ...

Re: How bad/not bad is my nitro engine?

The head doesnt look great but is probably OK, but man that thing must have been hot if the anodizing is that discolored. But no, that piston doesn't look good. In the correct orientation how far up the liner can you push the piston? You may be missing the Teflon wrist pin caps too. If you can't pus...

Re: Wrist pin removal/g-clip help

The CZ series don't use clips, they have nylon ends on the wristpin that keep it centered. If you pick up a new wristpin you will get the nylon ends. You should be able to just push that pin right out.

Re: Wrist pin removal/g-clip help

First one that popped up for me, I don't know anything about this shop but they say they have one and if you type in multiples it says there are not enough which to me would rule out a shady shop

Re: Purple Holeshot Chassis for RC10GT?

I don't have my 94 RCCA mags anymore but I have a friend that is searching to see if they showed pics in any of their other issues. The digital magazines have the ads removed except the one I got that screenshot from. I'll update you when I see if there is a pic shown

Re: Hornet - is there such thing as too much chrome?

I've always preferred polished aluminum myself as it just looks better than chrome to me. A lot more effort has to go into doing it as well which is respectful. Either way, keep up the good work. :)

Re: Blue tub RC10 RPM build

I have some updates so I can finally add it to the BOTM contest! Thanks to Markydents for a sweet piece to help RPM this thing a little further(rear bulkhead!), and Mike A. (Mikea96) for a sweet lid to help put the cherry on top!! I pulled some vintage NOS tires out of the part bin to place on the w...

My Childhood Blackfoot

I've mentioned this a couple times in other threads but, my brother had been storing my childhood Blackfoot for the last 20 years or so and I just found out he had it about a year ago. Got it back from him last Thanksgiving and went over it to figure out what it needed and a significant portion of m...
