Re: New member from northern IL

I know Mendota been there a few times also use to race karts at Utica back in the 1980"s. Welcome to RC10talk. Very cool. That course in Utica shut down quite a few years ago (early 2000's maybe). Assuming you're talking about the track that was at the intersection of Rt.6 & Rt.178, right ...

Re: Finally, the official Futaba FXT thread

I recently picked one up too, it's so much nicer than the FX10 I had as a kid growing up! That's a sweet example you have there therigliveson. Very nice. The FXT I bought showed up at my doorstep last week hours before leaving on vacation. Got to take a quick gander at it real quick before hitting ...

Re: New Brushed ESC for old stadium truck..?

Hi, how are you getting on with the 1080, I’m considering them for my brushed buggies but I was a little put off by the crawler specs? If they can be reprogrammed with the included programmer to be suitable for ST/buggies I’ll give one a go. Well it's still in the box. I actually won't use it until...

Re: Top 3 Kyosho Le Mans motors

I never previously had any of the vintage Kyosho Le Mans motors, but I just did purchase another Futaba FXT stadium truck with a 480 Gold motor. So very glad about that.

 seems very likely.
If there's a perfect example of a RC buggy body where everything went wrong in every way, that's it.

Re: Le Mans motor restorations

Thanks Derek. Alright took your advice, very thankfully might I add, and did some ebay recon over the weekend. Scored a couple dozen stand up serrated brushes with eyelets, a variety of light/medium/heavy/extra heavy springs, fine/medium/course commutator sticks, and the icing on the cake, 4 Kyosho ...

Re: Solder station recommendations.

I have this one arriving this week. Hopefully it's decent. I've never had a good one so my nipples are wearing thru my t-shirts on a daily basis. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RVMZNYR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_BQleGbASTHNQD A fella on RCTech recommended that Yihua 939D+. Around Christmas time I was co...

Re: Topcat rere w/ sidewinder

Was just searching the webz for a Topcat. Even though I picked up a rere XLS right before they discontinued, kinda wish I also would've got a Topcat too. The old Schumacher's are just hands down cool as beans. I also had to google Energy. Whenever I hear of a town in the ol' land of Lincoln that's n...

Re: Le Mans motor restorations

The results get me little more excited to put the 480 Gold in one of the FXT's. The other one is getting a Speed Gems Ruby 16x3 because that's what I had in my old one in the '90s. Waiting on a response from RCScrewz at the moment because I sent them the info needed to create screw and bearing kits.

Re: Le Mans motor restorations

This is hilarious because that's how/why I spontaneously purchased the 240S at halftime. Had consumed a mixture of different bottles and brews throughout the day. Good note, I yet to regret it :D

Re: Removing paint from a body

I'm soon going to be attempting stripping a couple old bodies myself. Unfortunately the bodies I'm working on cannot be replaced, so I bought a bunch of lexan sheets and am in the middle of building a vacuum table to recreate the body myself. Anyhow, homeboy at the local hobby shop told me the only ...

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

Like real cars, working on and modifying them is half the fun. I wouldn't be interested in the hobby if someone else did all the work and I only held the transmitter.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???

Digital infrared tach showed up yesterday. Motors and misc. parts I've been collecting over the past couple months. Have a few more motors on the way.
