Re: B1M

Nice!

I'm going to have to come up with something different for the bracing, though...I'm planning on using a litespeed heatsink motor plate, and I don't see how I could get it to fit with that style bracing.

Should be a heckuva performer! Keep us posted!

Re: My blasphemous MIP 4-10 project

I would be REALLY worried about chewing up teeth on that 2nd tensioner on the front. Maybe see if you could find a small spur or something to put in if you HAVE to get more tension, but harmonics and heat might kill that belt. Just thinking out loud (via keyboard, obviously...it would be weird to ta...

Re: B1M

Pretty cool...how much did you take off?

Might end up trying this when I get to that point with mine...but there's a LONG way to go before I'm there!

Re: Wider suspension arms

Hey Fred, what do you think about machining delrin to make parts vs. nylon?

I've got access to some delrin sheet (1/4" and 3/8" thick) and could get my hands on similarly sized nylon...

Thoughts?

Re: Some tuning options for racers and runners

I honestly don't think you want to integrate arm mounts into the trans case... arm mounts break, you don't want to swap out a whole trans case every time an arm mount breaks... just a thought Maybe not integrate them...just trim the lower trans case some to clear the pins. Like I said...I need to m...

Re: Some tuning options for racers and runners

Nice...I just need to get my mid-motor trans/arm mount idea mocked up and get some pics for you.

Maybe this weekend. Maybe not. Who knows.

Re: Short shocks & springs...

Kipps looks like they have a ton of options...that's exactly what I was looking for!

Email sent to them...gonna need a little more info about their stuff.

Thanks!

Re: Short shocks & springs...

Thanks, Dave! I actually picked up the AE Short spring assortment over the weekend...what I was wondering was more along the lines of what else works on these 'size' shocks. I know Losi makes different springs, and there are several different companies that make pistons and other stuff...and I know ...

Short shocks & springs...

OK, I'm wanting to build a gold pan and use short shocks all the way around (among other things I want to change)...I know I'll have to play havoc with springs and such, and I'm planning on making my own rear tower to facilitate it. I don't want to use big bore shocks; I'd rather stay with gold or h...

Re: "Snowbird" T3 conversion expiriment

Instead of the tie rods, might want to try some small shocks...maybe some of the plastic ones on the 18B or 18T, to keep it cheap... Pretty flippin' cool little setup, for sure!

Re: Some tuning options for racers and runners

Fred, sounds like we need to talk...I need to bounce some more ideas off you and mk-zero and see where it goes.

Of course, I'd need time to do that...

Re: Some tuning options for racers and runners

You've got a lot of ideas out there...let me see if I can mock up the rear end I'm wanting to try, and if it looks like it can work, I'll be in touch. Right now, I've got a pile of parts that I want to fiddle with...just no time to do it. I wish I had CAD/CAM skills...I could probably take some meas...

Re: Some tuning options for racers and runners

 6565-stealth-case.jpg Still a little work to do on it, but it's real close. 8) Change up the screw pattern on the bottom to make it easier to do the mid-motor swap... Heck, if you're THAT far along...why not incorporate the arm mount hinge pins in the lower case?!? Might save some sp...

Re: New addition

NICE! I'm working a deal on a clean B-stamp...

I REALLY want to get a gold pan and make it competitive. Setup and such is one thing...

But I'm afraid the loose nut behind the wheel might be a limiting factor!
