Re: What wiring do you use?
pends if you want your car looking 80's or 2010 i guess. pends what kind of motor/battery/electronics your tossing in there. Thanks for your reply, but I'm not sure what the era has to do with choosing the best guage & kind of wire for performance. As to the second part of your reply, I will ev...

What wiring do you use?
This is a question aimed at the performance fanatics who don't forget the devil's in the details. What wiring do you use, from your power connector-to-ESC, and from ESC-to-motor? 16 gauge or 18 gauge? Copper or something else? Back in the mid-80's when I got started in RC cars, I never pai...

Give me some buggy body options for Optima/Turbo Optima
Do any of you have suggestions for a body for my Turbo Optima other than the stock T.O. body, which I don't really care for? I *love* the original Optima body but it's too narrow to fit an 8.4V 7-cell battery. Have any of you tried other bodies and found they fit quite well? Cheers!

Re: Rejuvenating my Optima
I need a few things, perhaps a forum member can help me out...I just discovered my beige shock collars are probably Associated collars...would anyone here want to sell me some? It's an RC-10 forum, after all. A couple other items I need are a hard final pinion gear--the one that sits on th...

Re: Ultima and Optima runners - what to do for wheels/tires
mm, that one set is for touring cars: too narrow and small diameter. Otherwise, indeed: also buggy wheels that use12mm hexes are plenty available Ah, that's true Mr. ED. I should mention I'm planning to pick up that set for when I use my on-road bodies. The front wheels & tires of the stock Tur...

That's what I call a tight wiring setup! I appreciate it when people put in the time & effort to keep the "cable clutter" to a minimum. Beautiful!Eau Rouge wrote:New photos of the guts...

Re: Rejuvenating my Optima
And here are some progress shots. I don't want to bore you with all the details of the "restoration"--which isn't really the right word, as I'm the original owner. But things are looking good with 2 evenings of work well into the wee hours! I was originally just going to be lazy and clean ...

Re: Ultima and Optima runners - what to do for wheels/tires
robf, I'm modernizing a Turbo Optima that I've had since purchasing it new as a normal Optima in the mid-80's, and hopped it up to a T.O. a year or two later. Recently, I was trying to find aftermarket wheels on eBay by doing searches with "Optima" in the search, and was getting NOWHERE. W...
