Did a quick exchange of the chassis plate for a GRP one I got off eBay a while ago. Body shell still "an issue" as I don't see much I like better than the modern cheapo as per earlier pics. Maybe a kyosho Optima? Which could also go on the GV Beagle. I'm already thinking 44B on my side, a...

Did a quick exchange of the chassis plate for a GRP one I got off eBay a while ago. Body shell still "an issue" as I don't see much I like better than the modern cheapo as per earlier pics.

I rubbed a bit of silicon grease on tyres. All I can say is it doesn't seem to have done any harm.

Suspension axles pretty soft, I've straightened a few with pliers or on a small anvil. If by fixations you mean the small split pins I made some out of single core telephone wire wrapped around a pin to make a loop . They only need to resist pulling out with moderate force.
