I rubbed a bit of silicon grease on tyres. All I can say is it doesn't seem to have done any harm.

These dickheads who don't have an alternative solution and wouldn't dare protest in Russia, Saudi, Iraq etc etc.

Suspension axles pretty soft, I've straightened a few with pliers or on a small anvil. If by fixations you mean the small split pins I made some out of single core telephone wire wrapped around a pin to make a loop . They only need to resist pulling out with moderate force.
