Drive Belt Part Numbers?
Hello everyone,
I just joined this site after being sent here from DirtOval.com, and have a few questions about my Kyosho Slingshot.
Does anyone have a Kyosho or other name brand part number for the front and rear drive belts? The long front belt has Bridgestone DYNA TORQUE S3M486 and the short rear belt has Bridgestone S3M201 written on them.
Are either of these belts the same as the Optima Mid, since the Slingshot shares other components?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

Re: Drive Belt Part Numbers?
I just looked at the scan you put in the archive section, and both the picture and text suggest it uses a standardM3 belt, yet the optima mid (both: SWB and LWB) used a different type belt.
The good news is that the M3 is much more standard so you should find a working alternative easier.

Re: Drive Belt Part Numbers?
Erik is correct. The optima series uses a larger pitch belt. The slingshot belt is also wider (5mm) while the optima belt is only 3mm wide.
The lazer belt looks very close to the slingshot belt. I'll check my slingshot manual to get a part number and compare it to the lazer part number. I know that I have slingshot belts somewhere and I just bought a lazer belt the other day...so hopefully, I can just line then up and compare.
Reagards,

Re: Drive Belt Part Numbers?
spare yourself the trouble: the slingshot has a very long belt running from the rear diff to front diff. The front belt of the lazer only goes from the topshaft to the front diff = too short for the slingshot.
If you can count the teeth M3 belts in any teethcount can be bought from industrial suppliers

Re: Drive Belt Part Numbers?
the slingshot uses a dual belt system like the lazer. The slingshot drivetrain was on 1 plane like the yokomo 870c. At least, this is how my slingshot was.

Re: Drive Belt Part Numbers?
Thanks for the info!
Highwayracer, if you could get me a part number from your Slingshot manual for both belts and/or compare your Lazer belts, it would be greatly appreciated. If you want to part with an extra Slingshot belt, just let me know.
I would like to find a NOS Kyosho or other name brand belt rather than trying to order the correct one from an industrial supplier like sdp-si.com.
