Repro a trimmed body?

I have a dahms rammer body that has been trimmed and has mounting holes drilled. the mounting holes are in the wrong places so they will need to be patched. I got this off ebay and the guy said it was new but all the holes are screwed up so it is not useable in this condition.

Can it still be reproduced in this condition? Anyone interested in trying?

Boy, it's tough. I've tried twice and have had mixed success; once it worked great and once it didn't work at all. It depends on the body. Holes are no problem, but if the body has a lot of curves and material trimmed away, it's just simply difficult to put that material back, well sealed to the original lexan. I use Ultracal 30 to pull molds; when wet, Ultracal 30 is about the consistency of tomato soup, so whatever you're pouring it in better be leak free.

Can you post a pic?

Regards,

Robert

I assumed this was bought via paypal....might be worth filing a claim as it was mis-represented what you purchased.

Here is the auction. I will post better pictures later tonight. It is a rare find so having it reproduced would benefit everyone I think so I am willing to send this to anyone who thinks they can do it.

Yeah I did an RC10T body, I got some cardboard cut it out to fill in the wheel arches and go around the body to add some extra height, then taped it to the body all around with gaffa tape and taped over the mount holes. Wrapped it all in glad wrap so it wouldn't contaminate the sand then stuck it in a sandbox and poured plaster into it. A bit leaked out to between the body and glad wrap but it turned out ok.

I'd love to try, but I just don't have the time right now. I have two of my own bodies waiting to be repro'd.

that auction says nothing about being trimed or the holes... I would be pissed if I won and got that for almost $50
