No harm in asking right?

Post by tizeye »

I bought this fire nozzle off ebay mainly because we don't have anything like it here. What I want to know is how does it fit to the hose?..there's got to be another piece right?..

The top looks to be female threaded end. Do your hoses down under not have the male threaded end connectors?

No 99% are like the picture below. I liked the idea of a mini fire nozzle..so the connector you have is the most common over there?

I think most hose ends in the US are the threaded male end connectors like the top picture in the link I posted. They are usually crimped on when you get a new hose, but once they break/leak you can cut off the end and replace with the pictured one. Then you would need a hose clamp on the hose. Then it will probably still leak.

Obviously one end is male and the other is female....
Here's links to Lowe's (a hardware chain here): http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=34767-104-A680/PBGH10

If you're looking for a quick clip, then yes, you'll need more connectors to make that happen. As for just a standard old "fire nozzle" that attaches to a hose, that's what you previously pictured.

I can't speak for there being an IHT (International Hose Thread ), but I do know there's an IPT (International Pipe Thread )> I would suspect that hoses are similarly threaded around the world.

I went to the local hardware chain and showed them..they couldn't help but they did suggest trying an industrial hose manufacturer...
