Saved From The Grave...

When I bought my beloved BX a few weeks ago,it came with two bodies.
The body the previous owner was running was a Yokomo Factory Team body-I liked the shape, but hated the paint,so I ran with the other body it came with and threw the Team body in the pile of old bodies I have.
I was bored,so I fished it out to see if the paint would come off with nitro...and presto! Five minutes later,a clear body was had!
Here are some before and after shots.Do tell what you think...I found some nice, silver Yokomo BX decals in a store in Hong Kong,so I'll re-decal it when they arrive.

What's Nitro and what else takes off paint without harming the Lexan. I know acetone sure takes it off but it kinda clouds the lexan and makes it more brittle.

Thanks for the kind comments!
I've found that water based paints, like FASKOLOR come right off with glow fuel (nitro/methanol) and while acetone sure removes the laquer based paintes,if you're using pure acetone,it'll leave the body as brittle as hell...I basically ruined a JRX2 body doing just that
But...If you dilute the acetone with alcohol-like 20% acetone to 80% alcohol/methanol-it works fine, just work in small areas and wash it right off.
I'm loving this Yokomo! New camera just arrived,in flight shots sure to come!

Thanks Frank-no worries!
I just finished a wing to match the body.
The NZ Yokomo supplier is out of stock of BX wings,so I fell back on my old fave-The Losi XX CR 'V' wing.
I always keep a few in the parts bin, they look good on just about everything...The silver Yokomo decals have yet to arrive, though.
Here's the saved-from-the-trash body with the fresh wing...Just need some fresh rubber to mount on my new Rulux wheels
