Would be very interested in hearing back from anybody who has tried this. I'm planning to rebuild my CE's 6-gear sometime in the next few months or so.

Does anybody know if the RC10 bearing set that Boca sells comes with the outdrive support bearings?

it works.....there is no magical changes to the trans, but the outdrive is supported better. from that you should have improved life out of the drive and the bone.

Somewhere I read to build 6-gear transmissions but assembling both halves EMPTY, insert BUSHINGS into the out-drive supports and use the appropriate size drill to slowly bore both bushings to size effectively line boring the out-drive bushings for much better/reduced rolling resistance. You won't be removing much material at all. Installing bearings will sometimes forceably distort the ability for the out-drives to work at/close to 100%

Hmm, would bored bushings have the same result as the brass tubing?
