Loving the top fuel crushers

Post by Synergy »

OK I'm loving this:-

Once I've finished my other million and one projects I want to put something like it together.

My question is this, I think the TXT that this is based on is out of production (which as we know = pricey = not good for a thrasher) so are there any new chassis out there that have the same look and would make a good high speed squishing machine :?:

Why not just use the stock TXT-1 chassis? It looks pretty cool.

The only other thing I can think of would be to use an actual tube chassis, and that's going to cost you a lot more than the lightweight Tamiya TXT chassis.

It looks like a crawler chassis. You could get any number of RTR's and add some green paint and a body...

Oh, and some monster truck tires....

Losi MRC 1/18th on the left...(or top photo if your monitor handicapped  )

go to rcmt.net if you want some inspiration on gravediggers and other rc monster trucks.

fairly often i see tuber digger replicas for sale there and on ebay.

Thank you all for your advice and opinion :D I didn't realise the TXT was still available, I might try and find a second hand lightly run one if spares are going to be easy to get, $400+ is too much for me to lay down at the moment :( .

if i were to make a big monster truck i would start with a kyosho twin force (elec) or mad force (nitro). the axles are as close to bullet proof as you can get and use kyosho 1:8 buggy diffs. if you wanted the true monster truck look you would have to swap out the kyosho 2link for a more scale 4link, but thats not tough at all with some 4 link mounts. i would still like to get ahold of a twin force someday...

hpi 4wd wheely kings and axials ax10 are all over the place for cheap. not as big in scale, but parts are all over.

the stock wk chassis looks alot like a fullsize monster truck tube frame, find a gravedigger or bigfoot body that fits right and you are pretty much done.

i bought an xtm xfactor a few years back for the axles but i did run it once before i took them off, the thing was a beast and pretty fun. i liked it so much i eventually bought another set of axles to get it going again. but it sits in a box like the umpteen other projects i have...

I had a Twin Force with a Novak brushless and it was awesome. I wish I had kept it. I upgraded to 1/8 Kyosho buggy diffs and drive shafts, you kind of need to for brushless, or they'll get shredded. That truck is one of the few r/c's I regret selling. It was a beast, faster than anything, with tons of power, and it handled great. I'm trying to even remember why I sold it, probably because living in a big city, I didn't have many places to really use it to it's full potential.

I don't think the Twin Force is still in production. It hasn't been on Kyosho's site in quite a while. They should bring it back.

The TXT-1 is still very much in production.

My twin force is my favourite basher, flies straight and true, always lands on its wheels, and even on 4300 nimhs and stock motors it eats my modded emaxxes, not to mention dwarfing them.
I just love having an RC that axle tramps in reverse as well.

i never claimed it was a bargain... just that it looked the part of a monster truck with the grave digger body and all.
