This is very true...

Today that very landing claimed a Lundsford punisher titanium turnbuckle:

I've had enough of this nonsense, I'm gonna upgrade to the super-duty Lundsfords!

We're prolly gonna staple a big chunk of thick foam rubber or a pillow to the face of that pole, just to thwart possible damage.

So if you're lucky enough to miss the pole on take off, you hit the fence post on landing? Group B needs a Clodbuster which would knock the posts out and clear the way for those delicate little buggy thingies. :P

Yes, busting up super duper duty Lunsfords is soooo much more satisfying.
Any kid can bust up punishers, but it takes a REAL kid to wipe out a super duty!!!

We came to this realization, and so now we don't run our nice stadium trucks and buggies in the front yard anymore; they have been retired to track use at a nearby LHS only (practice and racing).

For the front yard bashing, I have my "Bash Buggy", which is a circa '94 Traxxas Bandit (story here: http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=8665), and lowrydesign is in the process of building a Losi XX/XXX hybrid "Bash Truggy", but just in case he's scouting around for a deal on a Duratrax Evader Truck.

I don't know that a Traxxas product is a suitable replacement for a clod. I had a T-Maxx get away from me once. It took about half a second to go from me, twenty feet, and directly into a fencepost, upon which it wrapped itself, quite nicely breaking several front end parts, steering servo, and a few misc pieces.
