Let me guess, take it slow and start as friends... seriously though. I have one that I got in a trade, but I'm not sure if it's vintage or re-release. I don't care, just curious. Or, for that matter, did they ever stop making them so that there would be any such thing as a vintage? :?

I'm pretty sure they have different colour internal gears, I think the originals were white and the re re grey, I think that's the right way round and I believe it's the same for the rest of the grass hopper transmissioned models. There's probably an easier way

the re-releases were the metallic version, with the chrome body and rims. i don't remember them re-releasing an original version of the M.P.

I think you're right about the chrome. I put the chrome on mine, but have all the original stuff still in the box. It was apparently an original. I contacted the guy I got it from. I have to admit that I like the chrome better. I have an original body, rims and decals that I want to do box art style. I thought it was black, but could be midnight blue. Do you know for sure? I'm almost positive it was black though.

I forgot about that oh so shiney chrome body which would definately be easier to spot than the internal gears I was referring to

You may be right but I have what i thought was a re-re MP that sits right next to my original issue. They look identical as far as I can tell. Maybe the one I thought was re-re is a new built original? Enquiring minds want to know.

the m.p. was in production for a long time. you could still buy them up until 2004-05, from what i remember. before all of the re-issue stuff started.

Yep, no such thing as a re-re Pumpkin. It was available until just a few years ago. I remember going to the hobby shop to buy a re-re Lunchbox and seeing a brand new Pumpkin right beside it. I think it was discontinued right around the time the Lunchbox was re-released.

Thanks. I was practicing posting pics. I have another white plastic body, decals and wheels that have been in the box for years. I'm going to do that one box art.

I ran it at first, then put it on the shelf for a looong time. I couldn't stand it any longer this past summer and got a body to run it with.
