That is 10" from the bottom of the cage, to the top if the cage.....the tail is another 8-9" long.....in the lightweight carrier, it weighed 2lbs, 10.5oz.....

That doesn't even meet the minimum driver weight/height requirements at Mel and Hoopty's track!

Very cool-- my kids each have one. They are quite social and intelligent (the rats, not my kids  ).
The rats go on our camping trips as well- they enjoy falling asleep on the kids near the warm campfire. :D
The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.

We adopted him from a local Petco, as he was dropped off by a family that did not want to take care of him anymore.

My wife wanted another rat (previous one died a year or so ago) and whom am I to tell her no for a 5$ donation fee?

Besides, I have to have some leverage when 5 new vehicles show up on Monday by both UPS & Fed-Ex

My kids are social and intelligent.

We have 2 guinea pigs to keep them occupied.

That thing is huge, you have to make it a helmet and put it in one of your cars jsut for a picture! That would be real funny.

It might eat the car. Seriously.

We tried to put it in a carry home cardboard box from Petco, it had it's head threw a self made hole in under 2 minutes.....they gave us a plastic carrier off the shelf.

Extremely friendly so far..it likes to be petted like any cat or dog. I have a cage 2x the size ready for him, just looking to either make or purchase a stand to keep it off the floor.

very cool! I was going to suggest a bigger cage but since its new I figured you would work it out. I had a rat when I was about 12-15 I had to find it a new home cuz when I went to live with my dad he said no way. I loved my rat he was a fawn color, I used to take him to school with me and he'd stay in my locker all day. I even made him a rack to sit on my handle bars of my bike, he loved to sit up there and ride with me.

The cage he is currently in is a 10g bottom, with a cage topper. The new one (well, new to him) will be 30" tall, 29" wide, and 15" deep, 3 levels.....

Much cuter than the rats I see running along the tracks while I'm waiting for the subway. Probably a lot friendlier too.
