Well, thanks to Gary,I have a new, uncut XX CR Kinwald decal sheet and thanks to Berrickster,I'll soon have a new X-Cellerator body to put on my XX CR I've restored.
I just HAVE to paint it in Kinwald war paint.
Does anyone know what brand of paint and what colors he used on those cars?
Or a suitable vinyl 'drip' mask to use?
Guess I need some 'Disc' wheels, too.Got some front Lexan discs in my parts bin, just need to buy some rears.

I was going to try this mask I found at the LHS. I'm going to try the same paint job. Don't know of the brand or colors-would be curious myself.

That's the 'Drip' mask I ordered up,too.
I went ahead and logged onto the X Factory forum and asked Mr. Kinwald himself what colors/masks he used on his early Losi cars.
I'll let you know what the Dirtinator says. The world needs more box art XX CR Kinwalds!!!
Kolors By Kropy does all of Brian's bodies-Chazz at X Factory quoted me US$80 for Kropy to paint and decal my Kinwald body...Might take him up on that, the body and decals are a one shot deal.
Doesn't he look happy with his X-6? I'm happy with mine!

X 5 is huge on that rear wing. The older bodies were probably done with Pactra paints, that's all that was available then.

Ah, the harry little Elivis with his calling in life, lol.
That paint scheme is great though. I would love to see that painted and rolling like the stock version. Glad you could source what was needed.

Crikey,I didn't even realise that Brian's holding an X-5,not an X-6
I checked in at the X Factory message board and no reply from the Dirtinator,as yet.
I'll keep ya'll posted.
Yeah,US$80 isn't bad,but when you live out of the US and the Kiwi dollar is low it's a bit of coin.
I may still do it,it's a special car, special body, special decal set and we all know we only get one shot when painting a body.
If I do it myself,I'll use Faskolor-at least that way,if I make a mistake I can wash it off with water
