So I think someone either needs to break out the old molds and shoot some of these or maybe we should send this image to yokomo and they can see that there is a desire out there for some old YZ Parts.

Wild I know! I recently paid $40usd for a set over well used pink 2.2inch rims myself. The fact is if you really want something then some people are prepared to pay for it.

I agree - just that it kind of shows a market need. Not sure of the market but I would imagine you could sell a hundred or so sets if you had them. Almost makes me want to looks into some molding options. Of course I would still need to get a set to work from, so I might be the guy spending $40+ soon :>

If I do mold them I will let everyone know. And don't let me stop anyone else from giving it a try as I think the chances are slim I will make something worth passing on to others.

What was so special about those yokomo rims was it the color? Are those the early or later type? I just got a NIP set of white early ones front and rear for free from a friend. They are going to go on a 4wd rc10 I'm going to build. Just wondered why the price went crazy.

from looking around, the trinity wheels are hard to find. especially a complete set. i didn't look to see what his auctions that were only the rear pairs went for. but, it only takes 2 people too get high prices. if it wasn't for the last second snipe, that set would've sold for $50. which is still a good chunck of coin.

i was watching this auction myself, just because the skinny fronts were there. i already have a new pair of orange rears. awhile back i was able to snag a new pair of skinny flourescent red trinity fronts. so, if anyone has a pair of skinny orange fronts and wants to trade, let me know.

With the rarity of any yokomo rims, I'm not that surprised. I think its just the craze of OEM and aftermarket 2.2in yoke rims. Not so much the 2.0in rims. For people trying to build vintage yokomo runners with current rubber tires or ultimate yz10's, any 2.2's will go for a good price (if they are what they are claimed to be).

When push comes to shove and you need em, you'll pay. LOL. Luckily have have all the rims I need now and also have 4 complete sets of hub adapters for my old Schueys too. Im going to run Yoke 2.2 on most of my vintage racers now.
I have a pair of the rear 'RC10-Yoke' adapters sitting around doing nothing. Are these hard to come across?

What does a Yok Adapter even look like?

Silly question - how do you know if you have 2.2 rims? Is it the outside diameter of the outside lips, or is it the "major" diameter of the hub (less the ribs)?

Not sure if that is clear but I just realized I actually might have the 2.2 narrow fronts, I had assumed i had the 2.0's.

The rims is measure where the 'bead' is glued.

So the 2.2 is the inner diameter of the tire. It seems like the bonding could be on a couple of surfaces (inner hub and outer rib).

Hence the word 'bead'- LOL. Not the side wall, the inner diameter.

What's with these rims, they measure about 2.15 inch, the "2.2 inch" hotlaps tyres fit tight though. They made them in 2.0, 2.15 and 2.2 inch?

Im certain that there are 3 different sizes also. Definately 2.0inch, 2.1 something and 2.2inch. Ive had all 3 and the American's made some rule that rims that were 2.2 back in the day were exepmt after the whole big deal at the 89 worlds.
