Instruction on building a turbo ultima ball diff
I'm about to rebuild a turbo Ultima and I noticed that in the manual there is no clear indication on how to build the ball diff. There's an exploded view but no instructions... like say in a RC10 manual. I'm wondering expecially about how to mount the conical washers...
If you know a link somewhere on how to correctly build it I'd like to know

I don't have a link but from my Option House ball diff instructions it's bolt then ( ) ( ) ( then thrust bearing.

That's almost right!
I mounted pretty a lot of old kyosho ball diffs; I currently don't remember how many washers layers are there, but the order is ()()|ooo|()().
Each couple of conical washers stacked like () acts as a spring, and one flat fasher (thicker than conical ones) is put in contact with the balls on each side.

Might be worth a try doing it that way. Here is a link to the Option House instructions posted by Terry from tamiyaclub. Even though it's for an Optima Mid, the diffs are built the same.

Re: Instruction on building a turbo ultima ball diff
Wow, that's the old instruction sheet!
Well I did not remember the total count of conical washers, and it doesn't really make a difference to stack the conical washers pairs all on one side or half and half.
The most important things are to put the conical washers like ()() so they act as a spring, and to put the thick flat washers in contact with the balls.
Bye
