Project Goldpan

Well...I was going to wait until I got home from being in the field to post pics of my goldpan I'm working on, but I found 2 pics on my laptop.
There are a few more things to be seen to, but I have most parts ready to replace when I get to it. I have the original 3pc wheels, the short A-arms, sway bar, the original resistor speed control (Novak 410, from my graphite car is currently in it), and a Team Associated stock motor.
Pretty much the only thing I'm left looking for are a wiper arm for the resistor, some good rear tires for it, and I need another white battery cup.
I'll have more photos once I get these things done.
enjoy

Nice Goldie,man!
Should be a fun restoration-It's always more pleasant when you start with a clean car, unlike MY restorations, which always seem to have basket cases for the starting point
Much respect for all the guys out in the field, have a great homecoming.

it wasn't so clean when i pulled it out of my parents basement after 15 to 16 years. Took me days to take every single piece apart clean them and put them back together.
i hope to be back for christmas...like i mentioned, i have some good resto parts lined up from ebay waiting for me when i get there

Some of the parts are from my original car that I took off to update it back in the day, but they are going back on now.

well...I got some updated photos. it's a little dirty, for some reason I just cant put her on the shelf
It's the same inside, I'm still debating weather or not to reinstall all of the original electronics that I have from originally buying it.
It will look better with some more decals, but vintage ones are hard to come by. I seen some on this site already, but not sure if I can convince mrlexan to reproduce some more
I got some original front arms from slotcarrod that I traded for my original white graphite front arms I had on it

since I dyed all my white parts black for the graphite
the goldpan still needs a few odd things like the gear cover and sway bar turnbuckles but nothing major...a good cleaning
Here is my latest ebay find...a rolling B4 RTR, a bit of an oxymoron but hey it was only $51 US.
cheers & happy holidays

hey frank,
thanks for the compliment,

do you think I should put the original electronics back in

...it still has old school updated stuff in it from back then, so I'm ok with leaving it, but wanted to get some opinions.

OK,
it no longer looks the same inside...it's not finished yet, but I got as far as I can go with it without having access to a hobby shop.
I got the original resistor, motor, and even the radio/servos & receiver back in it from when I first bought in in the late 80's..maybe it was 1990 by then, my memory sucks.
I still need a few things and finishing the wiring but it's almost finished.

someone just brought up the thread on my RC10 graphite I had when I was young (shelfer), so I thought I would check in on this thread of my gold pan I had when I was young (also a shelfer). Looks like I hadn't updated it in a while. Here is an update.

Great resto! I wish I had saved my first body. I'd love to do a resto and have that body setting on my shelf!
