Wrenchin' and jammin'
Just curious what music everyone likes to listen to while tunin' your favorite RC10. Music is maybe the one thing I'm more passionate about than r/c. Luckily you can do both at once. I was born in 1974 and got into r/c about '85 so I'm big into just about any 80's stuff. Rock, pop, metal pretty much right across the board on 80's stuff. 90's, pretty much all alternative and progressive rock. Right now I'm mostly jammin' the new Metallica. Other newer stuff:
Theory Of A Deadman
Seether
Third Eye Blind
Weezer
I could go all night, but I'm into just about all music depending on my mood.
WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO?

Most of the time when I'm in the shop I've got a hard rock station on. I'm a big fan of Metallica, Def Lepard, Van Halen.

Ahhh yes, Def Leppard. I received a Tamiya Thundershot and Def Leppard "Hysteria" the same Christmas. Jammed it during the entire build. The Thundershot is no more, but Def Leppard lives on...

Marui Big Bear, or Samurai if you like. All great stuff mate. Disturbed, System Of A Down, Shinedown, Killers or Static X probably suits you too. Check out Chevelle or Avenged Sevenfold if you haven't already. By your tastes you probably have....Rock on!

Re: Wrenchin' and jammin'
Really depends on what playlist is on. I've got a pretty varied load of MP3's. Sometimes it'll be Led Zeppelin, The Doors, The Who, The Guess Who and Neil Young. Other times it'll be Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Dave Brubeck et al. Late 80's through the 90's hip hop is always cool but the new on the radio blows. That about covers it I think.....

Re: Wrenchin' and jammin'
I'm almost always listening to XM "The System" in the shop [electronica] if not Pandora mixing up my own selections of Underworld, Paul van Dyk, Armin van Buuren, Orbital, Paul Oakenfold, John Digweed...
If it's not electronic/dance/D&B, I always have Tool, Mars Volta, Bloc Party, The Fratellis or something else to keep me motivated. Music is ALWAYS playing in my shop.

I'm familiar with her stuff, can't say as I'm a fan though.scr8p wrote:i listen to my wife pissing and moaning about working on my stuff and not spending time with her.

Eau Rouge - Pandora rocks! I've been introduced to a bunch of bands and music that I otherwise wouldn't have on there.

Re: Wrenchin' and jammin'
Depends who is with me.... my daughter is a classic rock fiend (Zep, BOC, Doors, Skynyrd, Allman Bros) but my son is into dance music and/or speed metal (anything with a quick tempo). I was one of 1/2 dozen NH kids listening to rap/r&b in the early 80s so there's plenty of that on vinyl waiting to be ripped to mp3 somewhere in this house.
I can listen to anything with the exception of the 'my-woman-left-me,my-pickup-is-busted,my-dog-ran-away' country songs.
Gunpowder by Wyclef Jean was playing while I typed this and Suicyco Mania by Suicidal Tendencies just popped up. Don't you love randomness?? Luney Tune by Alice Cooper is waiting for me next.

The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.

Re: Wrenchin' and jammin'
I've always listened to punk and classic rock since I was in high school. So when I'm turning wrenches it's usually NOFX, sublime, rancid, even some Hank III. Anything that has some fast tempo to keep me awake while I'm working. I love pink floyd but it's too mellow for work time.

Aaaaahhhh crap! I'm about to get passed by that orange truck!

I have the previously unreleased B-side! "I wish you worked on the yard half as hard as you do those stupid cars!" It's got a great beat and you can dance to it.scr8p wrote:i listen to my wife pissing and moaning about working on my stuff and not spending time with her.

Search "ion turntable" It can convert vinyl directly to mp3. Like $99 at Costco.com. I don't have one so I can't give any review, but it would be cool as hell to have one. Unfortunately I have no vinyl. You would be one of few that might remember "His speakers were three stories high with woofers made of steel."
