good find!
Has it been partially built or did they come this way?
You race at Kent, don't you? do they have a vintage truck class?
Edit: I don't see tires in the picture...

I don't race at all Ed I am about 230 miles away from Kent as well, York do indoor off road electric and run a vintage class occasionally, Northy participates I think, but being on a Saturday night, and me being a taxi driver, the two things never mesh right.
I don't see any tyres, and thought it should have been all white nylon by the box pics, and is that a nitro engine above the chassis?
Time will tell, should be here in a couple of days

York, that's the place I had in mind.
The black plstic is possible I think. I believe they used black chassis on the radicator 2 later, so maybe it changed over halfway the time these were in production; without update of the box pictures

i think the chassis and suspension parts were dyed black. the color looks a little uneven. plus, the shocks are in the bag and they're still white. i think the white trans case is in the box above the chassis, too.

looks to be one of the wheels in that box above the chassis and I agree with scr8p that it looks dyed black. Not a bad thing and it looks to be in great shape. You'll be happy with it. At least the body isn't covered with fur and eyeballs

Let's hope that the chassis wasn't dyed because they weren't made of nylon. They were an abs type of plastic that will warp when heat is applied. Just thinking about it...it is possible to dye the chassis using the "cold dye" method. This is when you use twice the amount of dye in cold water. You then let the parts sit for a few days...stiring it occasionally.

Ah well it arrived today, no tyres, no shell, and it is made for me
Purple!!

dyed by Sharpy by hand I reckon as the inside of chassis is white.
wheels and shocks and multiple bags, plus a butchered and a new diff casing, with a new in pack 6 gear and a ball diff, with the traxxas card, plus all ball bearings on the truck

There was also a full set of RC10 component bags, along with a wing kit instruction sheet, and this perfect copy

I am not sure if all the spares are traxxas, any look familiar?
Can't get a runner every time I suppose, but I was hoping the shell at least was in those bags in the box.

Did you say new in package ball diff? If that is the case then you made out pretty good Tim. All in all you made out pretty good anyway. Looks good purple and if you wanted it black at least its do'able. looks pretty good shape anyway from what I can see.

Well the bits on the lid look like the original 6 gear diff parts, and it has a stock gearbox that fits the stock diff, and a traxxas hop up card from a ball diff, plus a card from a set of bearings, that say suitable for ball bearing diff only. And a purple dif case looks like it was cut down to house the ball diff.
