Re: Repro Lazer ZXR shells
Sorry mate, but I havent the foggiest if anyone does. A company in Greece did but sold out and then have gone into oblivion. The only shell you can get now is the Lazer ZX, the Lazer ZX-S and the LWB Optima Mid shell from Kamtec.
Now if you can get a gear cover for the ZX/ZXR/ZXRR and send it to Kamtec he can make a mold and ching ching many more gear covers can be made.

Marwan has several optima mids that could fit: minimini posted a parma shell (tom cat) for sale for the mid. And Snake plissken has the exact same model on his lazer which looks super slick

The parma tomcat was for the lazer. Very nice body...I have on but I cut it up and placed it on one of my rc10s.Mr. ED wrote:Marwan has several optima mids that could fit: minimini posted a parma shell (tom cat) for sale for the mid. Marwan has the 2 LWB bodies for the optima mid. If you can find it, HPI made a body for the lazer...back when they were just making parts (before the kits).
Regards,
Roger

Re: Repro Lazer ZXR shells
Tower had a body for the first lazer also. I don't recall the brand but it had the gearcover shape molded into it: so you didn't have to cut out that big hole.
Looked identical to the original body beside of that.
I cut it up for another project which I now really regret as I have the cowl for it also and it would have fit the mid chassis

Re: Repro Lazer ZXR shells
I had problems with the gear cover built into the shell, the spur always rubbed on the shell which ddnt do any good.
The Parma Tom Cat was awesome and was also used on the prototype tamiya way back in the early 90's. Still that shell wasnt on the market for very long which was a pity as it looked a lot better.
I didnt know HPI made a shell, any good? There is a shell manufacturer in the US who still sells shells for the Lazer, but they are a different design and I didnt like. Cant remember the company though. Maybe you should go through the radiocontrolzone thread as its on one of the 51 pages. Infact all the Lazer info you will ever need is there.
