Various old 1200 packs -- Recycle??

Hmmmm... buy, sell or trade? Can I give away? ;)

I have a bunch of old batteries. I can get pics, but this is what I am about to recycle:
(3) Leisure 1200mAh 6 cell hump packs - in the bright yellow shrink wrap 2 have cuts next to the hump to allow them to fit in Hornets if I remember correctly. They are completely covered so I have no idea on the type of cells or their condition.
(1) Tamiya 1200mAh 6 cell hump pack - in the grey plastic case. This has permanent marker on it-- some numbers and letters-- velcro, a crack and is well worn.
(2) Cadnica N-1200SC 7 cell packs (yellow cells) that were opened and duct-taped in a hump formation to fit in a Hotshot in 1986!
(1) Cadnica N-1200SCR 7 cell pack (red cells) still in clear shrink wrap. Some rust visible on the ends of the cells.
(1) Unknown 6 cell stick pack. Each of the 2 rows of cells is wrapped in brown paper / cardboard. The (+) end of the cells appear to be white. Unless I cut the wrapping I don't know what these are!! ;)

All of these except for the last two were mine in the 80s. (The last 2 I got with an old Clod last month.) I cycled all of mine a couple times 2 years ago and they at least held a charge to bench test some vintage electronics. I have done nothing with them since then.

These are in a box to be recycled. They are far from perfect, but like they say, "One man's trash is another man's treasure".
If someone wants these I would gladly send them to you if you cover the postage.

Jeff

Jeff, If no one bites and you really want to recycle them (don't through them in the trash on route to the landfill), take them to a Batteries Plus retail location. They take all batteries free of charge to you.

Thanks Jay. Our local DPW has a great recycling program. No way they'd go in the trash.

Cool. I know that some of the local municipal programs can be weird about rechargeables. The local effort here doesn't take rechargeable batteries, so mine go to Batteries Plus.

Many stores now have battery recycling. my local hobby shop has a recycling center(a cardboard display with bags to individually wrap cells/packs) , and the local lowes has a drop-off for tool battery packs that I have used for rc packs as well. I know I've seen them somewhere else but cannot recall where.

I'm glad everyone is going green!!

The reason for the post was to see if anyone wanted some of these cells to sit in their period-correct shelfer. I guess they're going with me on the next trip to the transfer station. 8)

I'm going to cut open the brown paper wrapped stick pack and one of the Leisure hump packs to see what's in there!!

The rolleyes guy was because I was trying to give away batteries and wasn't intending to get into a full-blown "Save the Planet" discussion. I do more than my part and am teaching my children the same-- tyvm.

Now, to do my part to save teh internets, mods PLEASE REMOVE this thread from the BST-- put it in Off Topic or delete altogether. The batteries are in my truck and will be recycled in the morning anyway! Gracias!
