Jammin Jay Replica Ad Car

i am building a "completely bolt on" cage to replicate the jammin jay ad car. its incomplete at the moment and not finished, but maybe in a few hours i will finish it up. the body is cut into 2 peices, roof and 1 peice body. going to get it powdercoated white.

i know the design seems a bit "weird", but the cage is also being made to structurally support the car as well as looks..

The 2 bars that go lengthwise down the whole length of the car, are tapped to the nose plate and rear bulkhead. It is also cross braced in the front and the bar is tapped to support it sideways.

the "half bars" allow me to build a roll cage on top of the structural support.

design is going to change a little, but hopefully it will look sweet when its done lol. going outside to work on it more now.

pictures make the cage look a little crooked and angled, but its actually perfectly straight and angled.

built it up a little more tonight.. almost done...

trying to figure out from the picture if there is a X cross bar in front of the shock tower, if that makes any sense lol. hard to tell from the picture. it looks like there is.

other than that its ready for powder.. i know it looks like its been dropped in the ocean, but once i sand it down and clean off the flux, it will look perfect.

now to either pay a painter or buy a compressor.. seems like a compressor is the right choice lol

If I may be so bold,

"The Missing Link of the RC-10"

You should knock out a few more and sell them.

Now, all we need is the Fram oil filter that is seen in the vintage ad.

couple pics after unmounting it from the chassis, its pretty much done, cleaned it up enough to powdercoating and brazed some of the joints to clean them up.. looking good so far.. going to add on the oil filter too.

the window nets are steel mesh, going to have them powdered onto the chassis.

looks pretty cool mike, but did you try putting a battery in the chassis while the cage was on? going by the pics, it doesn't look like you could.

its going to have to be mounted "horizontally" lol. it will fit vertically too though now that im looking at it.

decided to spray instead of powder, just primed with self etching primer, going to paint white tommorow after primer cures.

primed it up, painted my "test fit" body white just to see what it would look like, i ordered a new protech already, and looking for a painter now. going to sand it down a little after primer cures and its ready to mount... onto something that is lol.. i dont have a good car for it yet lol. parts look all black.. which should be easy lol
