The "Ahiru" or "Duck" event is pretty well known by the japanese rc'ers and has some years of history already.
You can find a video on you-tube of the event in 2004 even.

Once a year, vintage lovers and scratchbuilders meet to run their creations in a very amical ambience.
And I had the pleasure of seeing the event take place close to my home this year, so subscribed, and here goes the report:

(lots of pics, so multiple posts will follow as I get ready scaling and uploading ;) )

Nice one Eric - some truly sweet rides in that main pic for sure!

People always laugh at me when I say the pegasus series of car from Kyosho were one of the very best beginner cars ever made.......now I am glad others have seen how good they go.

Do they hold the event the same time every year ?

Cheers

Darryn

Thanks guys.
I'll put up the link to the organisers site later: there will be an announcement for the next event plenty in time.
The site also has picture-rich reports of the past years and an interesting blog ( which unfortunately babelfish won't translate).
The next series of pics will be some amazing tam-tech conversions, I know; not really rc10talk stuff you think, but oh-so wrong :?: You'll have to wait till tomorrow though: midnight here.

For those who can't wait: there was an M-chassis rally class also: I've posted some action pics in Minimini's mini thread:

Forget those mini-T's, RC18T's, vendettas and mini infernos. They may be popular bases for wild mods all over the world, but here in Japan Tam-tech's rule again.

While Tamiya mainly chose to recreate some of its popular old buggy looks, the fans are less loyal.
How do you like these:

T-T Kyosho Ultima and Optima.
Are these new reproductions or have they been out for awhile? Whats the story on T-T making Ultimas, I didnt know anything about that. I think I want a couple , I know that much.

Very Cool Stuff..... Ingenius ideas. I think the Optima is just a buggy champ body on a TT Hotshot chassis, I believe. Not sure about the rest, but I love it. Thanks for sharing Erik.

folks, all of these specials are custom built models using the T-T's as starting point.
Works of fans with simple tools and lots of ideas.
No way Tamiya would ever make these themselves  , except maybe that FAV.

If you want one, you 'll have to build it yourself ;)

Hint: the ultima body uses a frog body: who wants to try this in 1/10?
Optima ; lex got it right: side pods are added for better resemblance.

Do you happen to have a side shot of the Ultima? I would like to see the wheels.... they look like they are close to the Kyosho wheels, I know they are custom, but would like to see them better.
