With all my focus lately on RC10s and their wonder, I forgot I had this. Bought it new way back when (late 80s-ish). Too bad it's just a bit too wide for that Trans Am body ... perhaps a RC10L or such will work.

I raced one of those in the 80s with a Jaguar XJ12 GTP body on it. Neat car.

Stupid story:

As a kid, at that time, I still tested my cars in the street. It was a hot summer day, and I was finishing my car for that weekend's racing when I decided to test out the build to make sure it works. Without a body, and without a bumper, I took a few rips back and forth up the street. The car was one of the faster cars I had ever driven at that time.

I banged the car off of the near curb as it was down the block from me, and proceeded to drive it back towards me as I stood in the street. I turned the car when it got close to me, and it darted uncontrollably right at my own feet. Because I was standing in the street barefoot, it seemed to come at me like a magnet. It hit my right foot square, and the raw graphite chassis sliced my foot open like a knife. It put a 3" long and fairly deep gash in my foot that bled like I had been shot.

Apparently, when I hit the curb, I knocked that swivel caster front beam axle forward into positive caster. That day, I found out the need for proper tightening of parts, and shoes. Luckily stitches weren't needed, but I wasn't able to get my foot into a shoe for a week.

Like I said, stupid story.

Neat car, though. :D
