I LOVE Tekin conversions and this is a very nice one, will you be running it?

Quick note guys: If you use newer AE rear arms, you will be able to mesh the motor better. I noticed that when I used the Tekin arms, I couldn't mesh the pinion/spur. The endbell kept hitting the rear arm.

Probably wont be running this one either. Fragility issues with the plastics. Mainly wanted one of these for the engineering in the rear end. I plan on using the Viper body with this car. Out of all I've checked, it allows for the most width for the chassis, and best matchup for the rear bulkhead too.

I found the same problem with motor space issues. I believe I dremeled some to allow clearance, which didn't require much.

Being a long time Tekin fan my envy of your ride is especially bad. Looks sweet, would be fun to run against one of my buds at the track that has the X Factory cars.

The gear mesh/arm clearance problem, would a different size spur gear help, is it an option? My bad if that's a blindly obvious and irritating rookie comment.

Yeah, a larger spur helps. I use an 83 tooth spur. That's about as large as you can run and still be able to use the gear cover without any rubbing.

If you find an RPM gear cover (Hydra drive or not, either works) then it'll cover an 87 tooth spur. That's what I have on my Tekin chassis with RPM trans and B4 slipper with an 87 tooth spur.

Did you have to trim it at all? Can you post a pic? I've seen a few hydradrive rpm rc10 gear covers so I think I may get one if it works better than the stock gear cover.

Yeah, I had to cut the bottom mounting boss off of the gear cover. I'll post some pics sometime this week, I'm out of town at the moment.
