I was looking into that too and actually started there first since I wanted to try to use associated parts if possible. So before I went out and bought a bunch of stuff I couldn't use, I figured I'd do some research and see if anyone else had done something like that.
the main problem i see is how far the carrier sets in towards the center of the chassis. i'm sure there would be issues with the cvd length. unless you find some steel ones, and cut and weld them to the desired length. you'd have to modify the front arms. also, you'd probably need to find a front wheel with more of a positive offset, to make up for the loss in front track width.
the only way to know for sure is to buy a bunch of parts that probably won't work.
Hi
After a long layoff, I'm working on my MIP 4WD conversion. So far I have both front and rear gearboxes and the cable installed. I had to bend the front chassis braces, and now it looks like I will need to add spacers to join them to the front...

Wow great pictures ! That car is very well done. I'll have to get back to work on mine. Thanks for posting these.
This has been in the works for about 2 years and at one time I had pictures of the original parts assembly but in the meantime I lost my external hard drive where I had stored the pictures so this is all I have to show.
The original SP-2 4wd kit...

This is my favorite RC10 build of all time. So many great details and rare pieces all put together perfectly. Just love it! Great work!
I've had these thoughts swimming around my head for a couple of years. I've always wanted to combine a MIP 4-10 kit with a fully hopped up Rough Rider SRB chassis. I needed to do some R&D with parts to see if my idea would work. So before I start...

Blue and gold works so well... and that transmission is so mythical, this should clearly end in a BotY kind of final competition when done!
Well I saw a post asking for WIP projects and so thought I'd post mine. Here is my first RC10, I am a big fan of vintage hop-ups and so this car at the moment only has the motor plate from a gold tub RC10 (and this has been modded to fit the...

Like Scr8p mentioned, it is not necessary to post the same question in 4 or 5 different topics. Please post only in one topic and be patient. Someone, if they know the answer, will get back to you. Any questions, please let me know. Thank you sir.
Hello, I just stumbled across this forum. What a great place for all these vintage racers. I am just finishing off a couple of projects that I have been thinking about for a long time. Here is my 4wd RC10. Pretty basic build. I took a new built RC10...

It was an ebay auction from awhile back and I'm not sure who it was. I have been sourcing parts for the last year in order to finish or start builds and things are kind of a mess right now. If I run across another set I will let you know.
I started an MIP 4WD project, using a Sassy Chassis, and mix of MIP and Andy's parts. The front Andy's arms match the AE factory short arms. The MIP SP-32 was fairly used, but cleanup well. My main issue is the front outdrives appear to be short,...

So was the hole in the pulley shaft a production oversight, or would the ~1mm outward spacing have caused additional strain or belt misalignment issues?
What is the going rate for a RC10 MIP 4wd kit these days? Just curious....i might have one hiding in my closet. Its installed on the RC10, but was only ran a couple times and I have the box and a new belt as well. Just a curiosity question.
