I'm trying to find one of these bodies but I'm unable to remember who the manufacturer was, I know it's not a Frewer and I don't think it's a Parma, it was quite scale and detailed not like the modern racing shells. Now I know if it was a buggy shell of any type you guys would be right on it so any help is appreciated

It has a kyosho logo down low just behind the front wheel. is it this:

I'm not sure but if you are right it would be amazing because I decaled it, the Kyosho sticker refers to the helicopter I owned at the time, a Kyosho Nexus 30.

Volvo or Audi? Kyosho made both bodies and next Tamiya, I would say that the 2nd in line for realism and scale?

It's a Volvo S40 I don't think Tamiya did that model just 740/850 saloon and estates and no sign of an available Kyosho one anywhere

i think almost every body manufacturer made a volvo S40. hpi, proline/protoform are a couple others you could add to the possibilities.

No luck with HPI, Protoform did one but again not so scale. The Kyosho one looks the closest match just not available (isn't that always the way ).

i have an hpi paper that shows an S40, but it does look different than the pic you posted.

Scr8p does it say if it's the 200mm version or the 190mm? Is there a part number/referance please?

I saw the S40 on the side, but couldn't get past the resemblance of an A4. I had a Hot Bodies RS4 that looked real close, hence the question.

The shape of the rear wings mean it isn't a Parma or Protoform. I would go for Frewer (even though it isn't!) as their S40 has the same shape arches, with the Schumacher decal sheet as the lights are in Schumachers style. Frewer supplied Schumacher with bodies for their SST kits.

For detail i would also suggest looking at HPI.

Bit like the actual 1:1 of the time, it became a bit of a spot the difference competition between the mainstream manufacturers, the designers definitely went through a period of safe styling.

I too would think the HPI would carry the greater detail / most scale (after Tamiya) and would be my preference if I could find one, all the Frewers were not great scale in my opinion from what I can remember.

unfortunately, i got my A4 and S40 mixed up (must be the meds ). it doesn't look like hpi had a volvo S40. sorry about that.
