I'm really lucky to found somwhere in Germany the old Schumacher Boss Cat prototype car from Detroit World 1991 .
This is I think the Jurgen Lautenbach car
The most important evolution from the ProCat was the Belt position on the upper face of the chassis and not bellow.
The rear multi-point shock tower and the aluminium machined stay.
The front end
The 1991 World official label
The servo mount fitting bearings to make this most higher
If somebody could help me with orih=ginal pictures of this car, this help me to rebuild correctly this really special car !

Yeah, really nice. What's with all the wood screws though?

Those were standard for Schumacher at the time. All my early CATS have them. I don't own anything beyond the XLS, so I don't know if and when the transition was made. I hate any common head screw. They all suck!

IMHO, don't you DARE restore or clean that car. Leave it exactly as it is, in exactly the same condition as it sits. It's one of those few RC vintage items that has pure history in it, and cleaning one spec of dust off of it would ruin the authenticity of the history. Instead, spend your time building a display case for it to be propped up and away from fingers, pets and the elements.
That right there is a historical marker in 4wd buggies in the world. It's no different than the original RC10 or the Masami World's cars. Any "restoration" or degradation of the visual history of that car would be a pure destruction to it as it sits.
That's too awesome to touch. Don't even breathe on it.

Oh, by the way, a sheet metal or self-tapping screw is far more ideal for threading into plastic than a machine screw (what everyone uses now). The big problem with the early Schumacher screws was the straight screwdriver heads combined with a cheap metal composition. They were easy to strip out, for sure.
Ideally, you want self-tapping screws into plastics and machine screws into metal, with a good hardened alloy hex head. Schumacher got it kind of right...

Wow...really cool. I assume they ran without undertrays hence the belt on top setup.

Mine has an undertray and it is flat just like the Bosscat's. I also have the grey front bumper. Its in 2 sections and has 2 oval holes machined into the front so you can adjust the front gearbox tension too. I wouldnt say it was a Bosscat chassis though as it still runs full Procat running gear.

Wouldn't you know it,my Fiance' has the camera and she has gone out with some girl friends for drinks in the city. I pulled mine down and am rebuilding it. As soon as I can get the camera back I'll get some pics up. Im glad to atleast know more about this car now. The paperwork I have was from the factory for Team drivers I'd imagine. I know the guy i got it from was a team driver here in Australia and also raced 2Wd and 4Wd in the 89 worlds too. His name is ANDREW NELSON.

I also have some weird coloured suspension arms too. They are very light grey and dark grey-not the standard black. Would you believe I recently sold the body and wing on ebay from this car? What a goose.
