Associated Museum?

Has anyone visited Associated (the facility)? I was wondering if there were any historical vehicles on display? Either on road or off road? If there is or if someone lives out that way, take some pics and post please. I have often wondered what happened to AE prototypes, Halsey's first WC RC10, Masami's various WC cars etc? Are they in a museum or are they in Halsey's garage buried in a box with an inch of dust on it and flat spotted tires? My money is on that one! LOL!

Also, on the same theme, I understand that ROAR has a museum? Anyone been there? Anything cool?

Thanks.

I've been to the associated facility, but all the vintage/prototype stuff is packed up or hidden between the walls. They just tease you with a gazillion trophies, t-shirts, and newer stuff up front.

Hey Scr8p, what about a "Virtual Museum" section on our beloved forum?

It would be cool to have a picture collection of every RC10 (original gold tub, TQ10, Graphite, Team Car, World's car, Hopped-up rides, chassis conversion, runners...) no comments and only pics.... I know it was once proposed but the project seems to be burried, so I decided to bring it back... what do you think?

I would like to agree with you guys, there needs to be some sort of way of viewing everyone's projects and completed cars without having to search through the threads.

Everyone who's been making the forum a lot more active over the past few days, well done. Keep it up!

Cheers

Ed

you could do a sticky at the top of the forum

Limit 1 pic to the buggy.

post should include a description of the buggy with a link to other pics.

No comments , justpics with descriptions

ok ok... sheesh. ;)

i'll make a sticky this weekend in readers rides along with some image sizing standards and description parameters so its efficient to browse.

if you guys got any more ideas on how to set it up or think it belongs in a different section feel free to give your .02

like I said, it would be cool to have sort of a timeline of the RC10, add a few special sections (for the "freak rides"), brief description and origin, some links to other threads, and that should do... 8)

We could do it like the vintage BMX museums. There's a good one on vintagebmx.com, they have huge forum, then they have a seperate museum section. It's organized by timeline, then by bike brand. Also, bmxmuseum.com has a museum as an online museum as well.

Those are kind of involved, we'd probably have to get Bill to make a new section. I think if we did a sticky like Hoopty mentioned and just had people post pics in it, that might be a good start.

I put together A "members rides" gallery for the GT forum. I made it a sticky at the top of the regular picture gallery and locked it so no one can post anything in it. I also used only thumbnail pics to keep the bandwidth down, not only to relieve the server, but also so people on dial-up can look at it with a reasonable load-up time. It's quite a bit of work initially, but once it is started it can be added to easily. It worked out great, nothing but pictures and a short description of the pictures all in one post with no responses or clutter to dig through.

this is pretty much what my post said a month or so ago. the only thing i added was that it should be treated like the b/s/t feedback section. after your first post, if you want to post a pic of another car, just edit your original post. that way, your cars are always grouped together.
