In 1999 Kyosho sunk its teeth into the world of Monster Trucks once again with the 1/10 4wd Nitro powered Snakebite. A scale version of the first three-dimensional character body in monster truck racing, its full-size counterpart was created in 1991 by Bigfoot 4x4 Inc. While it wouldn't be the first 1/10 Snakebite, as Parma released their own officially licensed version of the body in 1992, Kyosho did manage to tuck a Field Baja Beetle under their Snakebite body. This now created a trio of vehicles (Field Baja Beetle, Wild Dodge Ram, Snakebite) riding on the same full-length aluminum plate chassis, with its four-wheel independent lower a-arm and fixed camber link suspension uniquely mounted from the underside for maximum ground clearance. Peeking just above that aluminum chassis was a set of oil-filled plastic bodied ring lock coilover shocks cushioning blows to the molded plastic shock towers. An offset steering servo actuated twin bellcrank steering system with built in servo saver and adjustable tie rods guided the 'Snake around obstacles, and when the going got tuff a pair of split case sealed gearboxes containing bevel gear differentials shaft driven from Kyosho's QRC transmission could back the truck out of a jam quickly, as its throttle servo actuated clutch could engage forward or reverse at the flick of the transmitters trigger. That QRC transmission extended down through the chassis to spin the previously mentioned dogbone style driveshafts and as the reverse clutch could also be used to slow the truck down a traditional brake system wasn't fitted. Once power made its way through the drivetrain it was funneled through a quartet of dogbone axles to the 2.4 inch single piece white plastic wheels and spiked rubber monster truck tires. Kyosho's GS-11X motor, muffler, pull starter, flip top gas tank, sealed radio box, front and rear bush guards, spring loaded camlock body mounts and that menacingly shaped clear lexan body were included with the unassembled kit, which was sold less radio:
