Kyosho Lineup 1998

TF-3: 1/10 4wd electric touring car released in 1997. An evolution of the TF-2. Redesigned double deck fiberglass plate chassis. Width could be changed from a ROAR and IFMAR legal 190mm to 120mm for sport racing. Symmetrical lower a-arm/turnbuckle camber link suspension. Offset servo mount and new double bellcrank steering system with revised Ackerman and built-in spring-loaded servo saver. Fiberglass plate shock towers and new aluminum bodied coilover shocks with bottom loading seals in a heavily laid down configuration. Remainder of the mid-motor, twin belt, open bulkhead gear diff/one-way front bearing driveline with steel dogbones carried over from the TF-2. Mesh style wheels, rubber slick tires and foam liners. Unassembled kit included a small front bumper, bearings and was offered in either a Lotus GT1 or Mclaren GTR clear lexan body in the Sport model. Also available as a chassis only version without a body and used TF-2 five spoke wheels and tires. A Type-R version released in 1998 with a graphite chassis and upper deck relieved for saddle mounted batteries, one-way center diff, front and rear ball diffs, front universal shafts, metal motor mount and Teflon coated shocks but without wheels and tires. And a Type-R ‘99 released in 1999 further adding hard graphite a-arms, lower offset hub carriers, blue anodized motor mount and revised graphite double deck chassis with separate servo mounting plate, sans wheels and tires. All kits sold less electronics and radio.

Pure Ten GP MKII: 1/10 4wd touring car released in 1998. Replaced the SuperTen Spider GP10. Aluminum plate chassis and black anodized radio plate, redesigned lower a-arms and fixed camber links, revised front/rear bulkheads, relocated steering servo mount and new dual bellcrank steering system with built-in spring-loaded servo saver with adjustable tie rods. Plastic shock towers supported oil-filled plastic bodied coilover shocks with aluminum caps. Same pinion and spur primary/belt driven four-wheel drive system with open gearboxes, bevel gear diffs and metal dogbones, hubs and knuckles as the GP10. Slick tires though wheel style depended on the vehicle. Each unassembled kit included a ball bearing GS-11R motor, muffler, flip top fuel tank, large front bumper and bearings, less electronics and radio. Could be had in over thirty different body styles. Additionally a World Cup Edition released the same year with blue anodized main chassis, carbon fiber upper plate and shock towers, hard anodized Teflon coated shocks, tuned pipe, two speed transmission, hardened main/counter gears, available with or without engine, less body, electronics and radio.

2WD Mantis Series: 1/10 2wd on-road cars released in 1996. Available in both gas and electric versions. Built on a three-piece injection molded plastic chassis. Damperless torsion sprung independent front suspension with lower a-arms, fixed camber links and adjustable tie rod steering Molded in upper brace connected to the transverse battery mount. Mid mounted motor, laydown style transmission with bevel gear differential, metal dogbone axles and damperless torsion sprung lower a-arm and fixed camber link rear suspension. Rubber slick tires and vehicle specific wheels. Electric models came with a Mabuchi 540 motor and rotary mechanical speed controller, gas powered models would receive a flip top gas tank, aluminum rear chassis plate and centrally mounted GX-12 motor with pinion and spur primary drive. All models came 90% assembled, with bushings, less radio in one of thirteen different styles including a 1962 MGB, 1967 Corvette, Shelby Cobra, Volvo 850, Volvo S40, BMW 320, Audi A4, Renault Laguna, 1997 Corvette, Mini Cooper, Fiat 500, Renault Maxi Megane, and Peugeot 306 Maxi, the last four being front wheel drive versions of the Mantis chassis.

Super 8: 1/8 4wd Nitro Rally Car released in 1997. Landmax platform was based on the Inferno DXII and used the DXII's stamped aluminum chassis with side rail kickups, bearing supported front, center, and rear bevel gear differentials inside sealed gearcases, G20 Esprit four-wheel double a-arm camber adjustable suspension, hubs, knuckles, aluminum front and plastic rear shock towers, and blue plastic bodied oil-filled coilover shocks with clip-in spring tension adjusters. Single piece six spoke white plastic wheels and treaded rubber tires. GS21-R pull start engine with tuned pipe, flip-top gas tank, and bushings. Available in either Lancer Evo, Escort Cosworth, Impreza WRC, F-150, Alfa 156, Stratos, GT-R, Corolla WRC, or Volvo S40 clear lexan body, each with their own molded plastic accessories as a 60% assembled kit, sold less radio:
